Vehicle Detail

2004 SAAB 9-3 Linear 2.0T TURBO I purchased this car in 2007. I'm the second owner. The dealership I bought it off said it was a lease vehicle that had been turned in after the original owners 3 year/36,000 mile lease was up. Its been a great car and hasn't ever given me any problems. I had planned on keeping it but I found a Jeep last weekend that I convinced myself I had to have and so the SAAB must go. Mechanical Condition This car runs, drives and shifts great, just like the day I bought it. It has no mechanical problems. Since I've owned the car it has always been regularly serviced using only the factory recommended Mobil One Fully Synthetic 5W-30 oil. I have always ran the recommended 89 octane gas in it. Tires have at least 75% tread life left, two of the tires were purchased in July 2010. I can't find the receipt for the other two but they aren't too much older. The front wheel bearing, brake pads and rotors were replaced in November 2010. A MAJOR PLUS for the new owner is that I've also already had the recommended 70,000 mile service done which includes a new timing chain, replacing all the timing chain guides and tensioners, and they also replace the water pump while they do this service since it has to be removed to get to the chain. This was completed in May 2010 and is a $2000 value that you wont have to worry about. If you're looking at other SAAB's of similar age and mileage make sure to ask the seller if they have done this service, because if they haven't...YOU WILL. And if this service isnt performed BEFORE the chain, guides or tensioner break, you will have catastrophic engine failure when they do. I didn't want to risk that so I had the service done when SAAB recommened it. Peace of mind goes along way. New front struts and coil springs installed in March 2008. This SAAB is also equipped with a lifetime K&N High Flow Air Filter Exterior Condition Black Exterior. Still shines up and looks great. Absolutely no rust. Its not a new car so there are the typical minor chips, dings, scratches, etc which are to be expected of car of this age. Especially a black car which tend to show blemishes a little more than other colors. Nothing out of the ordinary. Overall its a great looking, clean and sharp sedan as the pictures show. Interior Conditon Charcoal Gray Leather Interior. Leather is still in great shape. The back seat has maybe been sat in 5 times since Ive owned. it. Carpets still look great, no stains. The center arm rest has a few cracks in it. The only other irritating thing about these model SAABs is that some of the interior components have a thin "rubber like" coating that starts to come off after a few years. You can see this in the close up pics of the drivers door handle and shifter area. You will find this in ALL SAABS from this era. A FEW BAD THINGS TO CONSIDER The windshield is cracked. You might want to replace it. I've been driving with the crack for almost 2 years now, I guess I'm used to it. I have had it quoted and it was around $275. The driverside back window regulator needs replaced. The power window motor is fine, its just the regulator that needs fixed. I had to fix the front one and it was a little over $100. I've been driving it like that for probably 3 years since, like I said, I don't ever use the back seat. The only other thing worth mentioning is the key fob has a couple of the rubber buttons missing. You can buy them here on Ebay for around $50 and SAAB dealer can program it for this car VALUE I have this car priced to sell. I have to get rid of it. I already have a new Jeep. I didnt like what the dealer offered me on trade so I decided I'd try to sell it on my own. The opening bid is what the dealer offered me on trade. I want to at least get that much out of this great running and great looking car.
