For Sale - 1979 Continental Mark V Bill Blass Designer Series I have owned this vehicle since 2000 and drove the last 50,000 miles myself. The car has been mechanically maintained (tune ups, oil changes, etc) until it was parked in 2005. My goal was to give the car a complete restoration and drive as a weekend cruiser. However, priorities changed and she has been sitting for several years now. My hope is that someone with an interest in this type of car will take her from me and give her the restoration she deserves. This car features all the amenities that came standard in 1979. Climate control (still blows ice cold), automatic headlight dimmers, blue/white leather seating, all power throughout. The engine is a smooth running 400V8 with a C6 3 speed automatic transmission. The car has 4 wheel disc brakes (ford 9" rear-end) and has the original aluminum turbine wheels trimmed in matching midnight blue. Being that the car has sat for several years, I would not recommend driving her home. She starts up immediately, no smoke - and the engine is whisper quiet. But I would recommend a complete re-tune and have her checked out before driving more than a few miles. This is a very solid, easily restorable Mark V. There are many newer parts that I have added myself, including a carburetor rebuild, brakes, master cyclinder, radiator, fuel pump, electronic ignition module, dual exhaust, etc. I have set a LOW RESERVE so that I can get her to her new owner as quickly as possible. If you are interested in parts - there are many good pieces - chrome, doors, hood and trunk lids, window glass, engine, tranny, rear end, trim pieces, turn signal and tail light lenses, grille, bumpers, interior etc. Please email with any questions and I will send additional photos upon request.
