Vehicle Detail

Brian Carrick 1985 Buick Regal 2-door coupe VIN #1G4GM47A3FP425958 This is the last listing on eBay as we have a buyer lined up in Bakersfield for a specific price if it doesn't sell this time. This is the last price drop so if you're interested, now is the time to buy it. I still drive this vehicle everyday. It is still running very well. I bought this car in 1998 from the original owner who kept it in storage and who only put 2,000 miles on it. This is a 1985 Buick Regal 2-door coupe with 105,xxx miles on it. I drive it every day and have kept it in as good a shape as I can. I'm selling it because I don't have the resources that are necessary to make it a collectible which is what it deserves. I have had people offer me up to $10,000 on the street to buy it but at the time, I had no wish to sell it. NOTE: the air conditioning does NOT work. This car has the original 6-cylinder 3.8 liter engine. It runs well, drives great, and looks really good for its age. It was repainted its original color by Maaco in 2007 and is still in pretty good shape. It shows one minor burn-like image on the top of the trunk that I have no idea how it came to be; however, it is still painted so the car is protected. The interior is original and needs to be cleaned. There is one cigarette burn in the front seat upholstery and while the front shows signs of its age, the back seat is near-perfect. I gave up smoking in 2003 and no one in my family smokes so the car is relatively smoke free. The carpeting is in pretty good shape, some of the cloth on the ceiling has come off, and the slide door beneath the functioning sunroof shows a sign of rust as rain water was able to work its way in around it. I had it sealed with silicone to protect it but have been in the process of removing it. This is the only area that shows rust, the slide roof under the sunroof. According to the mechanics, the rest of the car looks rust-free. One should expect to have to replace much of the rubber as the car is twenty-five years old; however, this doesn’t mean that it’s leaky around the windows, only around the sunroof. I drive it on unleaded gasoline and it runs fine and I estimate that it gets about 20 miles per the gallon. There are no oil leaks. What’s more, it has power locks, windows, seats, the front hood can be opened from the driver's side and the trunk can be opened from the glove compartment. To my knowledge, the cruise control still works although I haven't used it in a long time. It has a new Pioneer CD player and AM/FM radio. Antenna goes up and down when the motor is turned on/off. It was involved in a fender-bender in Washington State in 1999 on an icy road which was replaced by a new fender. Due to this accident, the hood is not flush on the passenger side, it sticks up about a quarter of an inch along the edge. I neglected to have Maaco smooth it out. It suffered another fender-bender in 2006-07 which was also replaced with a new fender and which led to the Maaco paint job. Someone once hit the Buick's rear-end and the bumper was replaced. There is a minor separation between the rear bumper and back left-side of the car with a hole but is not serious. It has locking hubcaps. It has minor dings and chips but for a twenty-five year old car, it is in amazingly good shape and like I say, I drive it every day. Otherwise, this car has never been in a major accident nor has it suffered any serious damage. This car has not been modified nor has it ever been raced. For its age, it's in surprisingly good shape and I think that if you really like this model of car, you will love it as much as I do. Finally, my mechanics feel that it could be driven out of state but I would suggest that you pay for your own inspection to be on the safe side—I have not driven it out of Bakersfield since moving it here in 1999. I did drive it down from Washington State in that year and towed a trailer with ease. I have maintained this automobile since the time of its purchase. I have all service records for the past three years and you may contact my mechanic, Able Auto and Truck Repair, located at 2459 Fruitvale Avenue #1, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
