This truck is in fair condition for a 43 year old truck. There is some body rust on the cab and floor area, some minor dings in the body, and the 1978 paint job is beginning to flake in areas. It has a limited slip differential, two wheel drive, and four speed manual transmission. The 6-cylinder 250 c.u. engine was rebuilt in about 1977 at about 145,000 miles and has run great since then. I purchased the truck in 1976 from a dealer who bought it from a US Forest Service auction. The diamond plate in the bed has been in there since about 1978. It has covered the original oak bed. The truck was my primary transportation as a second car and wood hauling truck until about 1994. I kept it up with lube and oil until I took it off insurance in 2004. It's been sitting on my property since then. I went out and used another battery to start it and, with a little starting fluid it started on the third try. The gas was treated with Sta-Bil when I parked it in 2004. I searched through my records for the title but couldn't find it so I have ordered a replacement title; replacement title expected 1st or second week in April. Will keep you informed of status. :( On Mar-19-11 at 22:14:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry, I was tied up with a wedding and other things today so didn't get to work on the truck. It wants to run with starting fluid, but won't stay running. I siphoned out the old fuel, put in new fuel, replaced the fuel filters in the carb and in the fuel line. Will check the fuel pump tomorrow afternoon. Then, if need be, will check out the carburetor. Will have a final answer on whether it runs no later than this time the night before closing bids. :| Also, if I understand the rules of the auction, I can't settle for another offer outside of the bidding environment. I am trying to keep folks informed so you can make realistic bids. On Mar-20-11 at 15:57:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Well, I checked the fuel pump and it's pumping great. So, as I've done a couple of times over the years, I'll need to clean and adjust the Monojet carburetor making sure all soft items are still good. I will work on the problem and assure the buyer that the truck will run with a fresh oil change before delivery. It is paramount to me that my word is good and my reputation with eBay is excellent.
