Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1955 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery that I call "Orange Crush". I have put some money into it over the past 4-5 years but it was all for great updates and got alot of enjoyment and some nice local car show time out of. I just really have more toys and more grandkids and work than time. The 55 Sedan Delivery was the third lowest produced model for Chevrolet that year following only the Corvette and the Nomad. It had a 350 blower motor in it when I bought it a few years ago and I just wanted to build a nice dependable street cruizer out of it. I started by putting in a new Jegs 355 power plant and added a polished aluminum intake, and polished Edlebrock 4bbl. carb., chrome headers, electronic ignition and lots of dress up. The engine cannot have more than 250 miles on it. It has a 4 speed transmission. I also added all of the March billit aluminum serpentene belt drive system with the polished AC compressor. The rest of the Ac system has not been put on but when I was doing the belt drive, I went ahead with that so I would not have to change anything on the engine if I were to do the next step. It has tubular front A-arms up front with disc brakes and drum brakes on the rear. It has a Dakota digital dash and chrome tilt steering wheel. The paint is approximately 6 years old and has some custom graphigs and flames and shines great. The wing windows were eliminated and has full glass side windows which is a good look. It has unique looking Eagle aluminum wheels that look awsome with the paint color and design. It even has vacumn operated front and rear licence plates. The milage shown is since Dakota digital dash was put in. I know that I was always buying and adding something to it.... My wife made sure to keep reminding me of that! The car is a very clean and a very cool looking Saturday night drive-in machine. It gets alot of looks out cruizin. The only thing I would yet do is put in a large aluminum radiator, the temp runs just fine but will heat up a little bit if you sit for an extended period of time. Also in the pictures there is a very fine crack in the paint on the top of the front bumper. It is pretty fine and you have to look for it to find it. Sorry it is not all detailed up for the pictures, I just took off the lift, uncovered and shot the pictures because it is one of the first sunny days so far this year that I haven't been too busy. It is here for you to bid on and hope someone can enjoy it as much as I have. It also has a custom fit "dust top" car cover that has "Orange Crush" embroidered on the front end. Please email me with any questions and I will try to answer them as quick as possible. I have tried to describe the vehicle as accurately as I can, however, it is a used vehicle and there are no warranties expressed nor implied. It is being sold as is. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. I do however reserve to end the auction early as I have had some local interest. Thanks, Mike On Mar-13-11 at 18:46:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Per some questions, I am adding the following information: 1) The paint is a PPG Deltron 2000, I still have a small amount left in a gallon can and more importantly, it has what appears to be the paint color mixing information on the label. This will go with the car for those who want it. 2) The car, to the best of my knowledge, was a California car from Santa Clara, CA until May of 2001. I have a copy of the old California title that shows it being signed over and transfered from CA on May 13, 2001 which I will gladly give to the new owner. I was told, but cannot gaurantee, that it originally was owned by a florist shop in Santa Clara, CA and was used to deliver flowers. Hope this answers your questions, Thanks, MikeOn Mar-16-11 at 11:29:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for all the emails, questions and inquiries. After many questions and much thought, I have decided to put a buy it now on the 55 for those who have been asking the age old question "What's it take to buy it". Hope you have fun with it. MikeOn Mar-18-11 at 06:33:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Because of other "Interesting Options" I have been thrown, I reserve the right to end this auction at any time prior to it meeting the reserve price or the "Buy It Now" option is exercised. Thanks, MikeOn Mar-19-11 at 13:04:05 PDT, seller added the following information: To the people that have talked to me about partial trades, now that the reserve has been reached, the car will sell. If you are the high bidder at the end of the auction, I will still visit with and condider the trades. Trading, however, will not be a consideration of the purchase agreement by bidding. Thanks for everyones interest and I'm sure the new owner will have fun with the car, Mike
