Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV. I purchased the car on June 2010, from then it underwent a complete restoration with over 300+ hours logged on the clock. The car was completed the night before (or I should say the morning of) the Coronado Festival of Speed where it took FIRST place in its class. Without going into too much detail, this is what has been done to the car: It came to me in a complete non running mess. I bought the car from Larry over at Alfa Parts Exchange and he hooked up me up with Weber carbs and a European manifold to get things going. Before he sold it to me he was kind enough to do a compression test where it passed with flying colors. The numbers were high, but that probably had to do with the upgraded 10.4:1 pistons ;) I was told it was used as a track car by the previous owner and it had many engine/suspension modifications to begin with. My intention when building this vehicle was to leave the working components intact and improve on the previous owners build. The car was completely stripped down to bare metal and any and all rust was taken care of. Any areas that were beyond repair were cut out and new sections were welded in. There is NO RUST. The entire front and rear windshield surround has been replaced. The front sections of the door sill have been replaced. There is NO second gear crunch, all gears shift smoothly into place. Brand new mirror finish paint job. Hundreds of hours went into the prep/colorsanding time to get the mirror finish look. Vehicle mileage is not accurate. Mileage is unknown. However, less than 300 miles have been put on the car since the restoration was completed. Here are a few NEW/refurbished items that were installed on the car. There may be more but this is what I can remember off the top of my head. And yes, I do have receipts for these parts. Car initially had FI setup, was removed for Megasquirt setup, and I removed that to run Weber 40s. European manifold Alfaholics race mounts w/ super short trumpets All wiring gone through and replaced when needed Custom exhaust Entire exhaust system including headers coated in white ceramic Wrinkle finish valve cover, New silicone gaskets, crush washers, etc. New Hella driving lamps Stock radiator RECORED with 3 row Better condition rear tail lamps installed New front windshield New front and rear windshield rubber New front and rear windshield surrounds Stock driver/passenger window and 1/4 window glass replaced with precise cut polycarbonate (LEXAN).
