1968 Ford Mustang California Special. This is a very well kept low mileage rust free example. In 1968 Ford made only about 4200 California Specials. This car has a 289 V8 engine with automatic transmission. The car runs excellent and has power steering , the brakes were completely done with new wheel cylinders and brake pads. The car still has all its original sheet metal and original interior in great condition. The odometer showed 58,917 when I purchased it in 2007, I was told it was original even though the title says exempt. The odometer currently reads 59,295, I have kept the car in the garage and driven it very little. The exterior is a repaint in the original Sunlit gold and is in very good condition with one small paint chip and only minor imperfections. The interior of the car is done in Nugget Gold and I believe is all original. When I bought the car I was given a copy of the Marti report and a 1996 copy of the California Special Mustang registry. The car is listed in that registry on page 83 and the marti report states that the car is an original california special. The car was manufactured in San Jose and was sold in Los Angeles, not sure how long it spent in California but it does still have a california black plate with it. the car has the original lucas fog lights and hood pins.Now for a couple of issues, the original am radio does not work, also the a/c is not working at the present time but is complete. the car had its carburator replaced and different header put on but the originals come with the car, they where in the trunk when I got it. Also a couple of the beauty rings on the wheels have some scratches. Most of the chrome on the car is in very good shape but there is some bright work that is showing its age.I have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.
