Vehicle Detail
The story behind this El Camino. It has a rich history, I literally have decades of receipts and paperwork. I just purchased this from my neighbor last week. My neighbor bought the car in 1975. (he just turned 80) He purchased it from a dealership where a relative of his worked in San Francisco. A gentlemen had bought the car and brought it back a couple days later. His relative called him when the guy brought the car back and said he would give him a good deal on an el camino. My neighbor flew up there and drove the car home. I have driven by this car for years and gawked at how sweet it looked. When I asked him last week if he would sell it he told me his price. I gave him the money and he sold me the car. It was most of my savings. Just Yesterday I found a ton of roof damage and water damage at my house. I now need the money I spent on the car which is why I am selling it so about the car. Anyway it was the same owner from 1975 til just last week. The odometer is just under 6000 miles LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THESE ARE NOT HE ACTUAL MILES on the car. The mileage on the car was over 200k. The owner had reset the odometer when he put a new engine in. The transmission was done at the same time and pretty much everything under the hood and car was replaced at that time. There is tons of chrome as you can see int he pics and the videos. It is a 400cc motor that runs smoothly down the highway. It sounds great. There is a small oil drip underneath the car. I put a couple hundred miles on the car in the last few days that I have had it. Until it has been running for a minute there seems to be a hesitation when you hit the gas. After it is warmed up that no longer exists. When you open the hood you are blinded by all the chrome. The body does not have a dent. It is in impeccable condition for a car 36 years old. All ther chrome is around the car the bumpers are awesome and in perfect shape. The paint on the roof, hood bed and a little on the sides is oxidized. The interior of this car is amazing minus a small crack in the dash that you should be able to see in this pics. He has had a dash mat on it forever. The seats are original as far as i know and absolutely amazing. There are no cracks and or rips in the seats. The spare is still in place with the wheel cover on and the radio does not work. The AC blows ice cold. I also have an extra ac unit that will come with the car but the unit in the car has only been used for 5000 miles. The extra unit was never taken out of the box. The tires are uniroyal tigerpaws and the car has nice chrome wheels as well. Id say there is probably 80 to 90 percent treadlife on the tires. The exhaust was replaced just 2 weeks ago. I do not think you could find a nicer El Camino in this type of shape. I am putting no reserve on this vehicle. If you live in Az you are welcome to come check this car out or email me if you have any questions. The title is clear and ready to go. Other than the last few days I have had the car it has had the same owner for 35 years. I dont htink you will find a car like this in this shape. Please hit me up if you have any questions and I will get back to you right away. Honestly i would imagine this is one of the nicest 75 El Camino Classic's out there. The video shows everything On Mar-08-11 at 12:50:47 PST, seller added the following information: *********I just added a bunch of stuff that I am throwing in for free if you would like it. I have a snug top that is in very good condition. It is just missing the jbolts that are used to fasten it. There are a half a dozen new headlights. There is a new fly wheel still in the box, new starter still in the box, an unused refurbished AC, some extra chrome pieces, belts and well just check out all of the pictures. These are extras that I am throwing in at no additional charge over the auction price. Please call me if you have any questions 602-810-7688On Mar-08-11 at 23:30:06 PST, seller added the following information: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54680288@N05/?saved=1 Click or copy and paste the above link to see 40 or so photos of the underbelly of the car. I have also included pictures of original pictures that show the engine and the engine being put in and what it looked like once it was in. Many of you have requested pictures of the bottom of this car. I have crawled around for the last half hour and got just about every square inch of this vehicle. I have used up all of my space for photos on ebay so i uploaded them to my flickr account. It is amazing how well the climate in Arizona treats your vehicle! When I said rust free that was not an exaggeration. Some of you were wondering about the double headlights. This was a bolt on change that anyone could do which gave you the double headlight as opposed to the single. One of you asked how do I have the title if I bought the car last week?. In Arizona they print the title out for you on the spot. The previous owner did not have a lien on the title. There are many Motor Vehicle Title Service places in Arizona where you pay a couple extra bucks and avoid the long lines at the MVD, I got my license plate title and registration last week. The title is free and clear and ready to go. I'm sorry to keep adding revisions. It has been awhile since I sold on ebay and I should have covered all this in one shot. Please check my feedback. Also feel free to call me between 9am and 9pm Arizona time. Bob 602 810 7688. I will answer any and all questions. If you live local your welcome to come check it out or if your out of state and have a relative or friend in the area they are welcome to come look as well. On Mar-10-11 at 10:24:08 PST, seller added the following information: I just wanted to publically answer a couple of questions that I have been getting. The oxidization of the paint of the vehicle is pretty clear. If you watch the video you can see it well in the bed of the truck and tailgate when the video starts. As I walk around to the front of the car you can see it on the hood. It comes down a little bit on the sides. Interestingly enough, if you look at the mocha brown color on the bottom, All of that paint the whole way around the car is in great shape and not at all oxidized. Any other questions hit me up. Thanks Bob
