Vehicle Detail

1996 Mercedes E-Class Diesel CHECK OUT THE VEHICLE HISTORY SCORE - Significantly ABOVE AVERAGE ! This car has been an amazing vehicle for me during the years I've owned it. I purchased it 3+ yrs ago and have put a ton of miles on the vehicle. I bought it from a a law firm where the senior partner was the original owner until he passed away and another partner drove it until I purchased it. This car has been pampered and adult driven it's entire life. If you're specifically looking for a diesel vehicle, you'll want to make sure that the fuel lines and fuel seals have been replaced recently. On a diesel Mercedes you will want to make sure the injector pump has been replaced or rebuilt after about 120,000 -150,000 miles to leaking "banjo" nuts on the injector outlet side. This car has been maintained properly since new. It has new tires and new brakes and new fuel lines and injector pump has been refurbished. The interior is in great shape and the body has all the original paint with NO accident history. It is ready to go. The only cosmetic damage to the car is the rear bumper cover on the drivers side. The damage is barely noticable but needs to be pointed out so you look at the photo of th rear of the car in the listing. When pulling into a gas station parking lot that was on an incline and had a bump in it, the tip of the muffler was bent which caused the exhaust to exit the muffler without being directed to the ground. This initially wasn't an issue. Apparently the if the hot exhaust gasses aren't directed to the ground they can break down the plasticizer in the rear bumper cover and make it brittle. The bumper cover cracks were caused by the exhaust gas heating up the rear bumper cover. As soon as I learned of that issue, I had the exhaust repaired. The cracks in the bumper cover are so minimal and strictly cosmetic that I did not feel a need to have it repaired. That is the only issue the car has that needs to be disclosed. I've owned several dozen cars and this is has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. It is an awesome road trip vehicle and gets 35 mpg with no problem. I purchased it when I owned businesses in different towns and had to commute regularly. For the past 20 months I've been flying my personal plane when I have to travel and have only put about 1000 miles on this car in the last year. This is an outstanding car - you wont be disappointed! PLEASE LOOK AT AUTOTRADER - Same year with higher miles are LISTED AT $7800 - $8200. I feel $1500 discount off the $7800 is more than fair to compensate for the bumper cover so $6300 is the Buy it Now price. Feel free to call me at 352-219-2199 - Jim
