Vehicle Detail
1974 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4x4 V 8 Auto 4wd Convertible VIN: cky184f191914 The good: This is an Arizona Truck (I have the registration and insurance card from Arizona in the Glove box.) It has never seen the Buffalo winters and salt. Full Convertible top Roll Bar Aluminum Wheels with 33 inch Tires It is not in mint condition, but the body is very, very solid. The interior is typical of an Arizona truck. But it is very easy to work on because all the bolts are not rusted and stuck together. It has a Rebuilt 350 Chevy engine (Rebuilt in the last 2 years) Edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock 4 Barrel Carb with Electric Choke Headers Dual exhaust from the headers all the way out the back of the truck, nice throaty mufflers (not sure on the type) Rebuilt turbo 350 Automatic Transmission (Rebuilt in the last 2 years) Manual Front Locking Hubs NP 203 Transfer Case Front Axle Dana 44 Rear Axle Gm Corporate 12 bolt All brake lines and fuel lines are in good condition Runs excellent and starts every morning. Tach Works Temp Gage Works Oil Pressure Gage works This truck does not have catalytic converters and is not required to have them by law. All the lights work. Was originally an AC truck (some of the parts are still on the truck) The Bad: Odometer / Speedometer does not work (needs speedometer cable) True mileage is not known. I think the mileage on the engine and transmission is less than 15,000 miles. Gas Gage does not work Needs cosmetic interior work (No carpet, no radio) Hood needs adjustment. The transmission leaks a drop of fluid each week. It is a very, very slow drip. But I want to be 100% honest. I just check the trans fluid once every three months. If you are looking for a nice truck to restore, or a great off-road truck, this is a really nice truck to start with. If you were to find one in the south, it would cost at least $4000.00 and then cost another $1,500 to ship it to Buffalo. If you buy a 1974 truck that has been in Buffalo for $2000.00 you will to replace every single part of the body, and all the fuel lines, brake lines and the frame may be rotted out too. Believe me, it is worth the extra few bucks on the purchase to eliminate a lot of headaches down the road. I am very interested in trades on this truck. I really would like a more modern compact pick-up truck (ford ranger, Toyota, Nissan, Dakota, s10 etc), Jeep or possibly an SUV. Let me know what you have to trade. (I don’t want anything that is all rotted out!) I drive the truck to work and run errands with it in the summer. It runs excellent and it is really fun, especially with the top off. It is not a show truck, but very solid. It attracts attention everywhere from true truck people. (It is not an Escalade.) it is a real truck! It will shine up nice and look good from a few feet away. It is very, very solid underneath, but it is not a show truck! I have never driven it in the salt, but i have to pull it out of the garage sometimes when I work on other cars... I have the back seat. It is in original condition. Not perfect, but decent.
