Vehicle Detail
If you are looking at this ad, there is a 90% chance you are an Audi fan like myself. It's finally time to sell my beloved A6 twin-turbo with the 6-speed manual trans. It has been extremely fun to own and I still love driving it even though it's not the same car it used to be. I will do my best to describe every aspect of it, but let me know if I left something out and you want to know more. The Good: power everything and it all works, A/C works, GPS, xenon headlights, dual zone climate control, side curtain airbags, quattro with amazing traction control where you just let the clutch out in the snow and it just goes, sport package which includes the cool bucket seats, hot weather package which includes power rear window shade and manual rear passenger window shades plus a solar panel in the sunroof which runs the interior fan when the car is parked in the sun, interior in still very nice, the wood accents still shine and are crack free, it rides perfectly smooth and straight, starts and runs everytime, leaks nothing, is rust free underneath, stereo still sounds great, currently has 17" A8 wheels on it but tires are mediocre, also comes with original 16" wheels with very good Michelins. Maintenance: always been maintained well, oil changes with Mobil 1 synthetic, all records from first owner from dealer including timing belt change at 120K, recently had front axles rebuilt, outer tie rods replaced, valve cover gaskets replaced, interior blower motor replaced, a few years ago it had a couple O2 sensors replaced and after-run water pump replaced, brakes are in good condition, clutch is still tight and never been abused, it has always been reliable, engine light is NOT on which is rare for these old 2.7T's. I have done the work myselft since I have owned it, I used to work as an ASE mechanic and am an aircraft mechanic. The Bad: First and most importantly the driver's side turbo is out, locked up and no boost, it has no effect on the way the engine runs just no extra power as you would expect from this engine, basically the engine runs like the regular V6 without the turbo which isn't terrible because it is a stickshift, but definitely disappointing from when I first bought it, it's been this way for about 2 years. Second, there is a minor side swipe on the passenger side, it swiped a rubbermaid mailbox and did not affect the paint but did push some metal in mainly on the front and rear doors just below the windows. It has a few rock chips above the windshield which are strictly surface rust which could be easily wire brushed and touched up for a quick fix, the passenger front seat had something boiling hot spilled on it and the leather is kind of crunchy there now. The rear view mirror and side view mirrors have the auto darkening feature, but the rear view mirror is always dark and the passenger side view mirror glass needs replaced bacause the auto darkening has gone out. Let me know if you have any additional questions. This would be a great way to get a cool looking A6 quattro with the 6 speed manual trans which runs and drives great if you are on a budget or motivated to fix it up. Thanks for looking.
