Vehicle Detail
Not only is the SVX a rare car to begin with, this one is like no other you have ever seen or driven. You will be seen, I have almost caused accidents from people staring at this car. Having someone stop you in the parking lot asking you what kind of car that is and complimenting it will become very common. The paint color is maya gold pearl with A dash of metallic flake reflecting a spectrum of colors that fluctuates as the sun hits it. Still images only capture half of the beauty. The hood badge has been shaved off. The car Was painted about 2.5 years ago. The right side has just been refinished within the past month from a minor incident. If you know about the SVX then you know they all came from the factory with an automatic transmission. Since this is the cars weakest link, a few others like myself took the time to remedy this problem. My SVX has A transmission from a 2006 WRX. A short shifter has been installed to reduce the throw making for quicker shifts. The final drive ration is 3.70. Acceleration is greatly improved over the stock 3.54 ratio and gas mileage on the highway can exceed 30 mpg if driven conservatively. The exedy clutch has approx 5k miles on it. The Engine does not leak one single drop of oil on the driveway. The coolant hoses are a blue silicone. I have a stage 1V4 chip in the ECU which gave it a dramatic boost in performance over the stock programming.Engine mounts are group N, much stiffer than liquid filled stock mounts. The original crank pulley has been replaced with a lightweight perrin pulley. The Iridium spark plugs have around 40k miles on them. Oil has been changed using mobile one synthetic high mileage 10-40 once a year or every 7500 miles whichever came first. The EGR pipe has recently been replaced. At 149,000 miles it had a timing belt, water pump, thermostat, timing belt tensioner, and drive belts replaced. No maintainence is required at this time. The exhaust has been almost completely replaced. There are no leaks. The front and center catalytic converters have been replaced with high flow magnaflow cats. All of the exhaust up to the muffler has been replaced with stainless steel piping. On to the suspension. As you may have noticed its not stock. The car is Equipped with ground control coil overs and Koni adjustable shocks. The ride is notably stiffer than stock but you will be pleasantly surprised with how comfortable the car is on the highway. And you wont be dissapointed going around turns either, compared to a stock SVX this thing is feels like its on rails. The rear differential bushings have been replaced with polyurethane bushings and the support bracket has been stiffened. The rear sway bar bushings have also been replaced with urethane bushings. Braking is fun in this car. Once the pads have reached operating temp. late/hard braking comes easy with EBC red stuff pads on the front and EBC green stuff pads on the rear mated to slotted zinc coated rotors. The calipers have been smoothed out using a 4" grinder then powder coated red. they were rebuilt using all genuine subaru seals. The stainless steel brakelines help keep the pedal stiff under any cimcumstance. These pads have one track event under there belt and have a total of less than 5k miles on them. The wheels are Enki and have been custom painted. They are mounted to a set of 225/40/18 firestone wide ovals. The interior was not left out when it came to making improvements. Overall condition is above average for these cars. The window switch functions as it should auto up/down. The Instrument cluster and foot well lighting bulbs have all been replaced with blue LED lights. The puddle lamps in the doors have been replaced with hyper white LEDs. The gauges are white faced and the brightness is adjustable. The head unit has blue tooth, plays mp3s,a remote,USB port,Aux adapter, and an I-pod adapter. The stock speakers have been replaced with kenwood 5 1/4's in the doors and 6x9's in the rear shelf. They are powered by an Alpine 75x4 watt amp. Also To give the bass a little more kick there is a Pioneer 8" subwoofer in a bandpass box that sounds quite nice. The battery has been relocated to the trunk as well. Ive done my best to list everything I can think of about the car. As with most cars this age there will be some items that will need replacing sooner or later. I have full confidence in this car and would drive it to any destination in the country. The main issues with the car the reverse gear and the intermittent starter click issue. The reverse is noisy but still works fine. The reverse gear has been nicked/deformed. None of the forward gears are affected and the problem does not require immediate attention. Sometimes when you go to start the car it just clicks. Its not the battery, or starter relay. It will need an ignition switch eventually. The right front tire has also taken on some edge wear and should probably be replaced and alignment checked within 5k miles or so. Please contact me for any additional questions. On Feb-23-11 at 14:16:41 PST, seller added the following information: Some one came to look at the car today and mentioned how the pictures do this car no justice. It was also suggested that instead of the reverse gear being messed up it may just be a syncro thats deformed/rounded. The rims have the body color sprayed in between the spokes. The only good shot I have of it is one of the car from the rear. On Feb-23-11 at 14:19:49 PST, seller added the following information: I also just want to reiterate this car must be picked up this weekend.
