(All cars on eBay have a story, don’t they?) This is my car that I’m offering for sale. I say this because over the years I’ve successfully sold several cars on eBay for friends, but until now have never sold one of my own. I purchased this car used in PA in early fall of 2009 to replace a mid sized Olds Cutlass Ciera wagon that I loved, ran beautifully, but had become a rust bucket. Unable to find a suitable low mileage Ciera wagon, I purchased this Subaru and drove it up from PA with no problems. As luck would have it, about 2 weeks after purchasing this Subaru, I found my current low mileage Ciera wagon not 20 miles from my home! I should have sold the Subaru right then, but I’m kinda slow to sell my things. The body is in absolutely gorgeous shape, save for a small dent below the beltline on the driver’s door. The dent can be seen in one of the photographs. There is no rust on this vehicle; the underside is clean. The interior is practically perfect as well. All controls and accessories work as they should. All glass is good. Mileage: the car has an actual mileage of about 116,275 although the odometer is showing only about 8,150 miles. The title shows 115,803 miles on the date of transfer to me. One of the photographs shows the fitted speedometer/odometer and the original unit next to it. Condition: As good as the body and interior are, the engine needs a great deal of help. It will start and run. Everything is fine on the straight and level, as well as going up hill. It starts to overheat very quickly on the downhill. Not being a mechanic, I headed directly to a repair shop. The shop owner tells me that the engine either needs new head gaskets (a major repair), or a complete rebuild (a more major repair). Alternatively, he would suggest installing an engine from a junkyard. Of course, the problem with the last suggestion is that you don’t really know what you’re getting, or getting into ! Terms of sale: The successful high bidder will submit a $200 non-refundable deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. Buyer agrees that balance is due and payable by cash (in person), or by certified bank check within 72 hours of auction close. All financial transactions must be completed before vehicle removal. Vehicle to be removed within 5 days of auction close. Do NOT plan to drive this car very far in its present condition. It will need to be towed, trailered, or flat bedded. The shop where the car is presently located has agreed to help load at no cost to the buyer. Buyer pays all shipping, trailering and/or towing costs. Buyer is to be solely responsible for making all shipping, trailering and/or towing arrangements. I will help as best I can. By hiring a shipping company you release all liability to the seller once the tow truck begins the tow procedure. Additional fees: there basically aren’t any! I never did understand what a ‘documentation fee’ is for. The only additional costs to be borne by the buyer might involve charges for sending documents via overnight mail, and those will be charged at actual cost. Should the buyer come to an agreement for repairs with the shop owner at the location where the car currently is, buyer must pay seller the total amount due for the auction prior to any repairs commencing on the vehicle.
