The 2004 Commemorative Edition Package celebrates the final year of the fifth generation (C5) of Corvette production with a special tribute to Corvette's back-to-back class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The package includes a special Le Mans Blue paint, the same hue used on the two C5-R contenders that returned to Le Mans (in 2004) and narrowly missed a three-peat class win at the famed endurance race. The Commemorative package includes a special Shale-colored interior (gorgeous!) and the seats incorporate Corvette cross-flags embroidered into the headrests (very cool). Also part of the mix are exterior badges acknowledging Corvette's Le Mans success (Motor Trend, 03/09/04). This wonderful Corvette Convertible is my baby and it is with a heavy heart that I sell it (the economy is causing us to tighten our belts). I am the original owner. My wife and I flew to Speedway Chevy in Tulsa, bought it, and drove it home in 2004. What a great trip! It has been very well maintained (non-smoker), I have all the maintenance records, and it has been garaged all but the last two months. I had purchased the Chevy Warranty (expired spring of 2010), so anytime work was required Gunn Chevy here in San Antonio did it, and all those records are available. The vehicle has never been in an accident, so no body work has been required. Last month I installed a new battery and a new negative cable post, and in August, 2010 I installed four new tires (Michelin Pilot Sport A/S run flats, at 69,031 miles). The paint shines beautifully. There are some small paint imperfections due to normal driving wear and tear. There is normal wear on the interior seats and carpet, and scuff marks on the door sill. The right front tire pressure measuring device works only intermittently, but I saw no need to pay for the part as it does not affect the drivability of the tire. The passenger visor clamp is broken (visor still works fine), but Chevy has discontinued the part, and I have not taken the time to find a replacement part. The car is mechanically sound and does not need any mechanical repairs at all (other than the tire pressure device, if desired). Options on my Corvette include the 6 speed transmission (it is so fun to drive!), LS1 5.7 Liter V8, twilight sentinel, electrochromic mirrors, heads up display, power telescoping & manual tilt column, commemorative edition magnetic selective ride control, Memory Package, Performance 3.15:1 Axle ratio, polished aluminum wheels, AM/FM/CD player with BOSE speakers, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, floor mats, drivers and passengers climate controls, leather power seats, and more.
