Vehicle Detail

2000 Volkswagen New Beetle TDI -We are selling this vehicle which has been our daily driver for about the last 5 years. -We are only selling the car because we bought a new TDI jetta. -Purchased in Connecticut from a dealer in 2006 -Car is rust free with the exception of a few small stone chips and defects across the front lip of the hood, and a couple random chips along rocker panels. Doors are immaculate, along with rear hatch. Car has composite fenders. -Car has been well cared for, has a clean interior. Overall condition is good with the exception of a small wear spot on the outboard side of the backrest portion of the drivers seat from climbing in and out . The car was never smoked in, and has a functioning power sunroof that does not leak. Carpeting is in exceptional condition for the age and mileage, and car includes a set of aftermarket rubber floor mats we used in the car. -All of the power options on this car work well. It is equipped with a Trunk mounted CD changer, power locks and windows, keyless entry, (1 functioning FOB included), Ice cold air conditioning, heated front seats, rear defroster, power trunk realease, and more. -Car has 16 inch tires and alloy wheels which provide exceptional stability and handling. Tires are 205/55 R 16 Cooper lifeliner mud snow, with approx 75% tread remaining. -Engine coolant heater installed in 2007, 110 volt male plug hangs out of front lower bumper fascia. -Major interval service performed approx 5000 miles ago, including Replacement of timing belt, tensioner, idler pulleys, water pump, thermostat and housing, Glow plug relay and wiring harness, entire Electric engine cooling fan assembly, Dismanlted and cleaned EGR valve, intake manifold, Exhaust heat exchanger, and replaced the vacuum actuator for the turbocharger. Engine oil, filter, and antifreeze were also changed at this time. All timing belt components and water pump were OEM supplier parts, and the water pump was a bronze impeller version. -Major repairs performed approx 20000 miles ago. Entire clutch and flywheel assembly were relaced with a new style single mass flywheel, using Valeo (oem) replacement parts. A new throw-out bearing was installed, and transmission oil was changed at this time. -Car had the battery replaced about a year ago, with a very expensive large CCA battery to accomodate the cold weather we occasionally have in NY -In the last year I have replaced the batteries (small hearing aid size) in the key fob when I noticed the keyless entry not working consistently. During the time the batteries were dead in the key fob the airbag and check engine lights came on. After the batteries were replaced the keyless entry immediately started to work again, however the lights on the dash remained. I contacted a dealer and was told it was due to the security features incorporated in the keyless entry keyfob. I have checked with our own code scanner, and no fault codes regarding the ECM are logged, so it would take a trip to a VW dealer with VAG software to reset the airbag alarm. -Overall the car is in very nice condition for a car with the amount of miles it has. The car runs and drives great, I have gotten over 50 MPG several times on long out of state trips. Many people wouldn't guess that the car had even 125K miles based on the overall appearance and cleanliness of the vehicle. Vehicle is currently registered, and inspected, and would make an excellent vehicle for someone -Please keep in mind, while this car is in VERY nice shape for its age and mileage, it is also an 11 year old vehicle. This car is represented as honestly and accurately as possible, I think my feedback as a seller can attest to that. Car will be sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer is encouraged to come look at or even test drive the car prior to purchase. Please contact us with any questions you may have regarding vehicle specifications, features, or to make an appointment to come see the car. On Feb-07-11 at 03:31:23 PST, seller added the following information: -I apologize in advance for the dates on the pictures. All of the pictures were taken this past weekend. I guess I need to reset the date stamp on my camera.
