Vehicle Detail
This is a 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z-11 Indy Pace Car Convertible (1 of 3,675 made). The car has a clear title. The Pace Car is in pretty solid condition for a 42 year old car. It has been partially sand blasted and restoration has been started. All new sheet metal comes with the car (either already on the car or with it in boxes). The quarter panels were partially put on by the previous owner and need to be finished. I also have another set of new complete quarter panels in boxes. The floor pans are solid except for a small 6" X 6" rust perforation spot on the driver's side floor board and some pin holes by back transmission tunnel. Frame rails are solid and rust free. Pictures are included to show these areas. I have a new driver's side floor pan replacement panel still in the box. The rocker panels are solid. The trunk pan will need to be replaced. I have a full trunk pan with side panels included still in the box as well as a new tailpan if the buyer chooses to replace the existing one. The inner wheelhouses need to be replaced as they have some rust and I have those also new in boxes. The top dash panel has been replaced and the VIN was removed but I have it along with new rosetta rivets to reattach when restoration is completed. There are numerous new parts included. Parts include new complete door shells, new gas tank, new fuel lines, subframe rebuild kit, all new oem springs and shocks for front and rear, a new tilt steering column, new dash pad, new tachometer, new power brake booster, new master cylinder, new steering sector, complete cowl induction assy. and tons more parts. My invoice from Classic Industries in October 2008 is included so you can see the $6,500.00 in total parts that I purchased and are included in this sale. The extra set of quarter panels are in addition to the $6500.00 in parts listed in the invoice. From the best I can tell (even after speaking to previous owners) the motor is a period correct motor that has been rebuilt and the transmission has been rebuilt also. VIN numbers on motor are illegible and transmission VIN cannot be read while motor and transmission are still in car. It is possible the transmission is the original one, but cannot be certain. Pictures are included that show the hidden VIN numbers on the cowl and the firewall, the motor stamping and code from front right by alternator, and the carburetor stamping. The motor has #388 stamped on front driver's side which means (#3932388) 1969 - 4 bolt main - 350 cu in /300hp engine which is the correct motor for the Pace Car. It also has TO823HB stamped on the passenger side by alternator which means Tonawanda (place of manufacture) - August 23rd (Assy date) - HB (350/300hp TH350 Transmission). The Rochester Quadrajet carburetor has #7029202 DH stamped on it which decodes as 1969-300hp w/auto. The intake manifold has casting #39227184 which decodes as Iron for a Rochester 4bbl 1969 - 350 cu in/255-300hp. As shown in the pictures the car has the 12 bolt rear end and factory rally wheels and front disc brakes. Some of the parts that were removed from the car prior to me buying it are in boxes and include wiring harnesses, top hydraulic cylinders, cocktail shakers, and numerous used interior parts. The factory spoiler, driveshaft, bumpers, and seats are also included as well as a used convertible top assy. Email me or call me at 501-281-2270 with any questions. This car needs someone that has the time and metal work expertise to restore her to her former beauty. Car will be worth some serious money when completed. Thanks for your interest. Serious inquiries only. Car can be rolled and shipped. Seller will be happy to help coordinate the shipping of the car and all parts.
