Due to other interests that must take precedence, I reluctantly offer for sale my 1971 SAAB 96. SAABita is a sweetheart. She has been my nice-day daily driver this past year. She has a 1.7 L V-4 4-stroke with 4-speed on the column. The odometer shows just under 56K. I would not be surprised if that was accurate, but can't guarantee it. All the desirable upgrades have already been taken care of: electronic ignition; electronic fuel pump; thermostatically controlled electronic fan; Weber carburetor conversion. She has an ultra-rare tinted windshield. No threatening rust anywhere, whatsoever. She is very clean throughout. Some details: solid exhaust system, 4 near-new tires, good brakes, recent brake master and clutch slave cylinder kits installed, modified axle straps installed, new wiper blades, Autopal driving lights, tachometer, new rear mud flaps (repro SAAB in back), new door/window weather stripping. She drives out nice. The only thing that doesn’t work at all is the clock. All SAABita really needs is a paint job and a new headliner to be striking. This sale includes car cover, extra back seat, 1 extra door panel, extra seat cover, and the traditional box of goodies, including rare windshield pump/reservoir, replacement parking light lenses, European-style front license plate, set of brake shoes, etc., etc., etc. If you have been looking for an old SAAB 93/96, SAABita will not disappoint.
