Outside---There is no rust outside, floorboards trunk or under the car. This car is RUST FREE. This car spend all of its life on the west coast. Body is straight and beautiful. The paint is base coat clear coat Body is beautiful and straight no evidence of any damage on this car ever. Two scratches on the inside front fender, one on the bottom of the trunk lid. where the hood was installed. not visable with the hood shut. I have a quart of the original paint that will go with this sale. two new outside mirrow's. Bumper's and guards front and rear have been (SHOW) rechromed. The grill as well. I have the rechromed center rear bumper guard and everything to install it with. The original gas cap with the original G.M. logo on it. (lock works just like in 1948) It shows nicely as well. Window's have no cracks at all. All roll up and down as should. All rubbers have been replaced on doors windows trunk as well. Trunk has carper to match inside car. New wiper blades and arms have replaced. The wipers are vacuum and work just fine. Tires are P215/65R on front P245/60 15" on rear. rubber is 95% driven very little. Rims are mag with baby moons. I also have 5 original 16" rims that have been sand blasted primered and painted the same color as the car. Look like brand new rims On these rims are mounted 5 wide white walls 6:00 16" Bf Goodrich tires. See pic. I have 5 new original type hubcaps Engine Compartment shows very well. 216 6 cylinder standard shift. Shifts and runs very well. No smoke or strange noises. Always starts on the first try. In cold weather just pull the choke knob out about 1/2" and she fires right up. New 12 volt battery and new alternator I have a split manifold with twin pipes. It makes it purrrrr like a kitten. The bottom of this car looks great also. This is a car you can take to the car show and win best in show. INSIDE CAR---All seats headliner doors carpet door handles window cranks are all new. These seats really sit well. New rebuilt heater that was tested to 24lb pressure. All that is required is 7. The radio plays as it should. The gas guage did not work. I put a new guage in. It will move when you turn the key on. If you bump it with your hand it will show full. This indicate a short in the wire or the sender in the tank. The rest of the guages work. Not sure if the speedo is correct with the 15" tires. The clock I bought it on Ebay it was wound too tight. I sent it to a clock repair. He cleaned oiled and repaire the clock. It keeps perfect time now. I think it is an 18 hour clock. I don't know how mamy miles are on this car. I bought this speedo on Ebay. This car has always been in a climate controlled garage. I take it on a 5 or 6 mile run a once a month I have tried to be as HONEST about this car as possible. I am sure I have left out something. So If you have any question just Email me of call me on my cell 229-563-3960. If you are a collector this will be a nice piece of history. You won't be disappointed with this car. On Jan-31-11 at 12:25:47 PST, seller added the following information: I have added some pic. to show the two fog lights are installed. I failed to mention the heater in the picture has been installed with new water hoses. New water pump with a new water cut off valve at the pump. Cut it off in the summer keeps the hot water from circulating through the heater which heats up the cab. The back up light, fog lights, radio, and heater need to be hard wired. the wires you see on the bottom side of the dash goes to these items. I have 3 working original switches that will go with the sale. You will need to add a current reducer from 12v to 6v. The fog,and back up light radio, heater defroster all work, The light on the radio works. All push buttons work. I also have 4 beauty ring for the rims These are original so they have a fed small dents on them. I only put one hub cap in the picture. They really look great. They are still packed in the box I received them from Chevy's of the 40's. It funny all of the things you think of after you list a vehicle. On Feb-04-11 at 13:07:16 PST, seller added the following information: I have had several E.M. from some states that have lots of snow. They were wanting to know how long I will keep the car prior to pick up. Since I made a deal with them I will do the same for everyone. I will keep the car safe and sound in my garage until the end of March if you need to. I think it is fair for everyone to have the same deal. Thanks On Feb-06-11 at 06:30:00 PST, seller added the following information: THE 1948 ALABAMA TAG DOES NOT GO WITH THE CAR. SORRY I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT IT HAS SENTEMENTAL VALUE TO ME. THANKS
