And a Great Investment As Well!!! If you know these cars, you know these are hot and hard to find…especially with these options and in super condition. This 64’ looks great up close as well as 10 foot off! The original owner and family owner it for the first 45 years of its life and it spent most of that time in Texas where it was bought new. The original owner decided to spiff it back up in 1984 with a repaint, carpet and a few other miscellaneous parts. There are paperwork and receipts detailing most anything that has been done or bought for it. A few years later, he had the motor pulled, cylinder walls honed, re-ringed and had all new seals put in the heads. It cranks right up with the turn of the key [sounds absolutely awesome] and hits the road well. The car is very tight with no rattles or squeaks, the body lines are nicely straight, the body is solid from quarter panel to fender and the doors, trunk and hood opens and shuts as they should. It is a delight going through the gears and puts smiles and envy in place when you stop… I am listing it as a “Survivor” type find due to the rarity of all that is correct and still in place but as noted above, it has had a few things servicded over the years but mostly all by the original owner. I stated the miles with what is on the odometer but it might have turned…its close but I think it might have turned once. The car drives out very nice and the lights all work including head lights, dash cluster, dome lights (Headliner and console) and signal / brake lights. The speedometer works as it should as does the wipers, gauges and heater / defroster. As nice as the car is, it is not perfect and none of them are…They only items that I can think of not working is the clock, one or both of the reverse back-up lights (Possibly a fuse?) and the horn relay [I tested the horn and it blows as it should]. The body is pretty darn straight but only as nice as it was from the factory…there are a couple of nipple dings on the left rear quarter due to something sliding around in the trunk, a few chips here and there and 2 small scratches on the driver’s fender. I have included pics of this and while nothing major at all, I wanted to disclose it. There is one piece of trim that has a small ding in it and it is located on the passenger’s fender. This car is extremely nice for what it is but please do not mistake it for a frame-off nut & bolt restoration. It is nice, could drive it anywhere, can show it, can cruise it and most anyone will be proud. If you are a purist and are looking for rare muscle to frame-off restore then this is the find you dream of. I reserve the right to end this auction early due to having it for sale locally... On Jan-29-11 at 17:05:48 PST, seller added the following information: WOW, this has been an interesting auction thus far.To show that I am serious about selling the Chevelle, I have decided to take a chance based on several conversations and lower the reserve so that the next bid hits it.I tried to lower it down to the $18,500 that is bid now but it want let me do so, so $18,600 is my new reserve. I originally set it at $23,500 and was needing the low $20k's to buy it. I hope my leap of faith pays off...we'll see. Last comment...we had a beautiful day here today and I took it down the road and back and man is it sweet...had to warm the tires up a bit though, it has been very cold and nasty and could not get it out for 2 or 3 weeks but again, it is a nice cruiser! Let me know if you have any other questions...good luck to all and May God Bless You.
