Vehicle Detail
My hobby is purchasing classic cars one at a time (Datsuns or Jaguars), fixing them up, and then selling them after about 2 years of ownership. That is the case with the 77 - 280Z (5-speed manual transmission) that I have for sale here (I am currently in the process of purchasing my next hobby car). I purchased the car a little less than 2 years ago from the original owner in Florida. It only has 24,625 original miles (it had only 22,013 miles when I purchased it). The car is stock except for an after-market exhaust system. I have service records from the original owner as well as records from my ownership of the car. The car drives smooth, straight, strong and tight. The exhaust is smoke-free. Tires have a good deal of tread left, and brakes pads and shoes are near new. The A/C was topped off with R-12 last year, and remains full and works great. The carpets are in good shape, and the vinyl seats are like-new. The dash is like-new (no cracks). During my ownership, several new items have been installed including the following; Pioneer CD radio (iPod capable), speakers, after-market exhaust system, Z-logo floor mats, rear hatch mat, starter, radiator, water pump, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor rotor and cap, front brake pads and rear brake shoes, Auxiliary Air Regulator & water temperature sensor. The color of the car is Persimmon (orange), and the paint is shiny and in excellent condition. There is no rust on the body, bumpers, or the frame. There are no dents, and to my knowledge, the car has never been in an accident. The car was garaged by both the original owner and by myself. I have the original owner's manual as well as a copy of the factory service manual. All instruments work fine, except for the clock. When the car sits for a while after a long drive, it sometimes idles a bit rough upon restart. However, after a little revving, that goes away. From a review of the pictures provided, I believe that you will agree with me that this is one of the nicest examples of a 1977 - 280Z in the country. If you are the winning bidder, a $500 deposit will be required within 48 hours via PayPal, with balance due within 1 week either by cashiers check or wire transfer. The winning bidder will be responsible for picking up or shipping the car. The car is located in Richmond, TX (a suburb of Houston). Appointments to see the car will be accommodated during the bidding period. Questions about the car are welcome.
