Vehicle Detail
I understand it's no Shelby, Vette, or Jag, but her body is in pretty remarkable condition considering she's 47 years old, with some minor imperfections, couple dings and nicks. Garaged everyday since 1964. I am the 2nd owner. Engine could use some detailing and dressing up, but it runs with a little knock. I have not taken the valve cover off but she may have a loose or broken rocker. Nearly all original parts. Original upholstery in very good condition. "Straight 6 Cyl" w/ ~103k original miles., 144 CID, "3 On the Tree" Manual shifter. New Battery, Starter, Starter Solenoid, Points, Horn, brakes, and prefessionaly rebuilt Generator. Original bumpers and glass as far as I know! Will eventually need new clutch and tires. Vintage means vintage: No power steering, no power brakes/ABS, No A/C, No radio. Nearly all original specs have been maintained. This is a great CLASSIC to keep vintage or LOTS of potential to customize. I can take more pictures if you need more details. If you have an interest in a fair deal, I am considering letting this one go. So, thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing what you think. On Jan-22-11 at 20:44:43 PST, seller added the following information:I got underneath the car tonight to get some pictures and feel out the floor panels. The overall undercarriage shows some level of oxidation throughout as one would expect with a 47 year old car. But most of it doesn't appear to be very corrosive at this point, almost a dusting, and may be able to be buffed out. However, there are a couple parts that are further along than others. The front driver and passenger floor panels have seen the most ware. Both panels have had the protective coverings worn out but are still pretty firm. The driver side floor panel appears to me (I'm no mechanic) to have been replaced by the original owner but is pretty firm. That leaves the passenger floor panel that appears to me to be original. There is only a very slight flex in the panel when pushing up from underneath. The most corrosion seams to be directly between the passenger floor panel and the under tuck of the body. (I am trying to upload the images) Again, there is some oxidation on the underside of the wheel wells. I would imagine this could be buffed out and refinished. Doesn't appear to have penetrated the shell... (but I'm not a body expert either). I have attached pictures taken tonight of the undercarriage and the trouble spots for your review. The other photos were just taken this past July and the car has maintained it's overall condition since then. Please take time to review them. Please don't hesitate to ask for any other details. I hope this helps you make a well informed decision! Dave
