Vehicle Detail
1977 Triumph Bonneville T140V, Pretty much bone stock except exhaust and handlebars. I have a lot of maintenance and tune-up parts which I have not installed and will go with the bike. I have too many kids to maintain all my bikes so it's time to let a few go, not the kids but the bikes. I haven't ridden this bike in 10 Years, I do have a new battery though (Thought I would have some time last summer...should have known better). On Jan-24-11 at 23:00:27 PST, seller added the following information: I've been receiving a lot of e-mails pertaining to this bike, I would like to clarify some items since everyone is asking the same questions? 1. I am the 2nd owner, It was purchased at W.I.W. in Minneapolis in 1978/1979 then sold to me by original owner and friend. All numbers match, Title next to me and is not going to self destruct. ( I have exact original keys too). 2. I've worked in the motorcycle industry most my life, here is where you cry for me 'cause I'm stupid, so I haven't just laid the thing against a barn. 3. One MAGICAL DAY seven years ago my new wife told me I was going to be a DAD, damn.. get the Norton running...so the Triumph sat and waited...... year or so and two MORE kids later... the Triumph still sits, I ride the Norton. My wife also bought me a 1995 Ducati 900SS CR, with my own Tax Refund of course, she's a stay at home Mom, GOD bless her. Toughest job I hope I never have to do. 4. Is the bike restored...no......will you need to work on it.....absolutely.....it's a 34 year old British Bike... am I asking too much....NO, the values are only going up, when is the last time you heard..."That's in original condition, will only take a little to be working....it's not worth sh*t. 5. I also have a bunch of crap I planned to install but never got aground to it. Apparently I forgot the meaning of recreational sex! New head pipes and Dunstal style mufflers, I rebuilt the front forks with Progressive Suspension Springs/seals. I did take the front brake caliper off and it is still off (I was going to rebuild it). You have to remember that I redue stuff not because it has to be done but because I work at a shop and get cheap parts. 6. If you would like to by this bike cheaper, look for another one. Apparently I own it, it's a '77, and if I was going bankrupt I'd sell it to my dad for a dollar. I know we all want a deal but I'd rather keep it than pimp it. See #4 7. I really wanted to build a Triton. 8. Please someone buy it! I feel myself wanting to scrap my listing
