Vehicle Detail
This sale is for a 1939 Plymouth PT-81 1/2 ton pickup. It is what I will call a custom driver/project. It runs and drives, starts and stops very well for a 72 year old. It has a working 12 volt system. All the lights, turn signals, heater, brake lights, even the horn work. It does not have the original engine but it is from the era. The engine numbers start with a M270--- Not sure what year it is. The tires are like new Firestone 6.50-16s. The wood in bed looks new. The bed has a U shaped piece of steel back by the tailgate, I assume to hold the shape. I put a carb kit in and replaced all the front wheel bearings. As you can see the paint looks good but it is not show quality. It has a run or two, some chips, some scratches. Not perfect by any means. the body is rust free except for the floorboard where there is a pinhole and where it had rusted some but not all the way through. Someone has tacked two 1/8th inch plates on to the floorboards, I assume to disipate some of the heat cause the floorboards look good from underneath. The windshield sticks out a little at the bottom but it has a good seal. The frame needs some work and a screw needs replaced. Doors have to shut firmly, drivers side bottom hinge needs some work. Windows roll up and down, drivers side will roll down by itself when driving. Emergency brake needs a lining. The body of this truck looks real good but there are dents and dings that were not pounded out before painting. These are small and not noticeable until you get right up on the truck. The front grill fins are bent some. The hood is bent some and passenger side doesnt fit quite right. The battery box has been cut off. Has some seepage from tranny and motor also. Not to bad though. Oh and the frame has been bent in between the front drivers side spring. Looks like the axle slammed it. It is patched and I have not worried about it. I took a picture, the one of inside wheel right where the brake line runs through the frame. I just want to let everyone know that I am not hiding anything. I am starting this off at six thou. I think its worth a lot more but you be the judge. Study the pictures carefully, and decide if you want to own this rare truck. I should have the title by the end of my auction. I would like a $500 dollar deposit in two days, the rest in cash in person within 7 days. I will not ship, buyer must make all arrangements, but I will help any way I can. I have a job starting soon is the reason for selling. Need it gone as quickly as possible. It could stay longer but I wont be around to keep an eye on it, know what I mean. You can call or text Tom Williams at 870-810-1088. Pocahontas, Arkansas with all questions or though Ebay. Thanks for looking.
