Vehicle Detail
A true survivor car, they don't come much cleaner than this. I was given the honor by my client to clean up and sell for him this third owner Shelby. What I have done is steam cleaned the engine and undercarrage. Repainted the engine and engine bay while the motor is still in the car. Oil change, minor tune and a lite cleaning of the vehicle to make it presentable. I also gave the car a full inspection and here is what I have found. Origionaly purchased by Charles J. Pechard in 1968 from Courtesy Motors Inc in Littleton, Co. Charles put the first 66,523 on the car. Then sold to the second owner Stephen D. Frost on 10-30 1980, he put an additional 2,700 some miles on the car. Then sold to the third owner Ray Watson on 6-18-2005 and only put about 100 miles on it. The car has been stored for a number of years untill now surfacing . It has alway's been here in Colorado and I am glad because we live in a dry climate so everything here ages gracefuly. First off the engine and trans are matching numbers. I climed back there and checked my self. The number that is hand stamped into the back of the engine block is # 8T205192 and as you can see it corilates with the vin number. The tag on the transmission reads RUG N 1 011991. Charles Pechard doccumented the oil changes tunes and other maintainance on an envelope and the owners manual that he recieved from the Ford dealer. After doing an oil change and a minor tune up I have found the motor to be in exelent condition. It starts right up no noises smoke or leaks. The clutch and transmission engage and go through all of the geers just fine as well as the rear end. ( The drive train is in great shape for 40 years and Charles taking care of it). The front suspension is in origional condition except for the Idler arm, other than that I found it to be tight. The front disk brake pads only have about a 1/4 inch of ling but have plenty of meat on the rotors. The rear brakes look newer. The factory Ford transverse exhaust systom is still in tack and working great with no leaks. Present were all of the Shelby parts 9 inch 31 spline rear end, front disk brakes, big sway bar, center console, steering wheel, seat belts and all of the lettering/ badges. Everything electricly works on the car headlights, wipers, turn signals, hazards, AM radio, clock, guages, dome/ courtsey lights, trunk ilght and YES EVEN THE SWING AWAY STEERING WHEEL, AMAZING! How often do you see that as well as the origonal keys/ spare tire/ wheel/ jack and tire iron? There are no signs of collision on this car. It respectfuly has all of it's origional floor pans, frame rails, torque boxes, rockers, trunk drop off's, engine bay aprons, quarter panels, doors, fenders, fiberglass and all other asociated body chrome, trim, and Fomoco glass, yes even the wind shild is origonal. The Wimbeldon white and the GT 350 sticker are origonal except for the occasional paint touch ups ( which there are not many). There are four small rust spots one on either side if the rear lower quarter skirts ( the size of a pencile eracer) and the other two on the over laped engine bay sheet metal on the passengers side. (You can bearly tell on the engine bay sheet metal). This car also has the rare big block shock tower re enforcements. There are a low number run of these GT 350 cars that had this feature. The interior is in exceptionaly great shape the dash, carpet and the rest of the inside is a Shelby time capsel with Carroll's signature on the sun visor. The words "Paint ok Martz" by the inspector can be found on both fenders when opening the hood. The car is verry road worthy at this point, I have driven it and it may be used except for the condition of the older radial tires, they should be replaced. To make the car a true survivor I suggest to replace the carb, it is an after market Holley,( I have the origonal one it needs to be rebuilt) Mca approved battery, cables, radiator cap, radiator hoses/ clamps, plug wires, shocks, front brakes, floor mats, oil filter, tires and good detail and cleaning. I have more pictures and The Marti Report apon request. If you are serious just leave me you email address. There is no guarentee or warrenty on this car so please call and ask as manny questions as you like. Rich at The Mustang Ranch 303-931-5412 I can get the car shipped anywere just ask me. PLEASE BE RESPECTABLE OF MY TIME AND YOURS. I WILL ENTERTAIN OFFERS ABOVE $60,000. NO TRADES THANK YOU
