1986 Chevy Monte Carlo SS with T-Tops. White with black stripe. Original burgandy cloth interior. Purple tint windows. Drivable, street legal project car that does not have to pass emission in NY anymore because of it’s age (I was told this year was the last, and it passed). Drives very well and has a great sound. Starts up every time with 1 or 2 turns of the key. Battery is new and was kept on a trickle charger when not in use. Power locks and windows. Has basic Viper Remote System Model 400 installed. Missing remote. Car has been garaged. Car has a very firm shift kit that is installed on an original TH-200 transmission and an original 305 high output motor. Valve covers need to be replaced or the gaskets need to be reset because it drips a slight bit of oil. Accessory belts will need to be replaced as they are showing signs of dry rot. They are ok for now. New heater core and cooling hoses. Original AC components; update small parts and recharge and should work fine. Blower motor not working, seems to be a connection issue. Has an Edelbrock Quadrajet carburetor that has an Edelbrock Pro Flow air filter with chrome housing. New plugs and wires. Originally, car had electronic ignition and electronic distributor with the car’s computer controlling it. Now the car has vacuum advance timing on a vacuum advance distributor due to the fact that the computer was disabled. New ignition cap and rotor. Original drive train from front to back. New suspension, new Monroe shocks all the way around. Original single to dual exhaust with after-market super-tuned mufflers. Almost new brake pads in the front (within last 1500 miles). New brake shoes in the rear (within last 100 miles). New brake drums in rear and rotors in front. Original rims with almost brand new Firestone Indy Hawk tires. After market Pioneer radio with working CD player. Decent 8x6 Jensen speakers in rear and a line amp going to a 200 watt 2-channel amp made by Pyramid. Cheap but decent sounding Auto Zone round tweeters in front of dash by windshield. T-Tops have storage sleeves. Need new weather stripping and metal mount for the T-Tops. Small crack in left spoiler fin. There is a dent in fender and door on driver’s side. Door is fully functional and does not hit fender. Paint flaking on front and rear bumper. There was a small hole (maybe the size of a nickel) in the floor pan on the driver’s side which has been patched with epoxy and Rustoleum primer. Driver’s seat has small tear. Passenger side door handle is sluggish on the outside and could be replaced, but works fine from the inside. Passenger seatback locks going backwards but folds forward without being unlocked. Dashboard lights replaced last summer. One bulb and the voltmeter seem to have a faulty connection somewhere, but work fine with a little tapping on the dash. The steering column center piece that backs up against the dashboard is loose, so when you shut the car off you have to move it back and forth in order to lock the column and remove the key. Transmission oil was serviced 1500-2000 miles ago. Due for an oil change soon. We have a collection of receipts from the previous owner as well as receipts from work we have done. Comes with spare front left fender, slightly rusted but can be restored. Also have spare mud flap. Have original air filter housing, with NAPA air filter. Missing tube from filter housing to front of car. Also spare, partial set of ignition wires. All in all, a great project car for any Monte enthusiast. Pick up only. Thanks for looking.
