I have owned and ridden this 1971 R-75/5 BMW Short Wheel Base motorcycle for about 15 years, I have ridden it two up with my son to North Carolina several times as well as a couple trips to Osh-Kosh, Wisconsin, we have ridden it to the mountains both Adirondak and Catskill, it has been to many AIRHEAD and MOA Rallies. This is not your normal R-75/5, the engine and frame numbers match, the engine is stock, as you can see from the pictures the cycle has EPCO Stainless Steel Headers and EPCO "Norton Style" open Pea Shooter Stainless Steel Mufflers, it is not loud but it makes more music than your standard R-75/5. We installed 32 MM Round Slide MIKUNI Carburetors and K&N Liftime Air Filter, between the carburetors, air filter and exhaust system this R-75/5 really comes alive. The attached pictures show the stock BING Carburetors I can e-mail more pictures with the MIKUNIS. Part of me hates to sell this R-75 as we have many great memories on it but I would like to pursue other projects and it is time to let another lucky individual enjoy this one. Over the years I have done numerous repaires and updates, Progressive Front Springs, Charging System Rotor, Electronic Voltage Regulator, Various Gaskets, Seals, Service, and Tires as required. Normal Routine Maintenace, nothing out of the ordinary. Currently the R-75/5 is in need of a Rear Main Seal and Clutch. I am able to install these parts and have not done so only beacause time has not allowed me to. I run a Small Motorcycle Shop www.conleysclassiccycles.com and also work full time for an Aircraft Engine Overhaul Facility www.pennyanaero.com, I am sure you understand. The R-75/5 still enjoys her Original Silver Paint and Blue Pinstrip, the Front Fender is Bobbed and I have an original Black Full Size Front Fender that I will include if you so desire. This R-75/5 Sports with the R-90S Short Bars and Handles Nicly. The stock Speedometer and Tachometer work however the Odometer quit functioning a while back. I purchased the Saddle Bags New from the local BMW Shop and installed them on the REYNOLDS Mounts. Very Nice Rideable Classic Motorcycle that will only gain in value, very dependable and a lot of fun. Also included with the R-75/5 is a New Battery (in the box) and New OEM/BMW Tank Rubber Knee Pads. Shipping is buyers responsability, ask questions, good luck, and thank you!
