Vehicle Detail
This is a 1965 Lemans GTO clone car. I bought it six years ago. It came with a 326. A year after I had it I had a 389 rebuilt and put that in it. The 389 combo I had built had too much compression and I was having to run 5 gallons of 115 octane race fuel to keep it from detonation (pinging noise at full throttle). I got tired of mixing and started looking for another engine. I then had a 1969 428 out of a grand prix rebuilt which is currently in the car and it runs strong and cool. New Barry Grant 650 demon carb. The car was originally an automatic, I converted it to a muncie four speed, which was rebuilt after purchase by a local well established transmission shop. New Zoom clutch two years ago. I installed an era original posi-trac rear end, 10 bolt with new 3.55 richmond gear. New aftermarket front power disc brake kit, with drilled and slotted rotors. I have most receipts for almost everything including machine shop info on the block and heads, the heads are 6X with screw in studs and locking nuts. Rear end updates include a new sway bar and Edelbrock anti hop brackets. This was an original A/C car, I took the parts off but have all the original brackets and parts and a new condensor, plus many spare parts that will go with. The 389 is also availible for an additional cost if so desired (we can discuss later, but the price is very resonable). Both motors are balanced and each have there own flywheel. The body is solid, I bought the car in Oklahoma and I assume it was a southern car due to the conditon of the body and frame. The rear quarters have been replaced prior to my ownership and they did excellent work. Floor pans, trunk are original, there are maybe 5 or 6 of pin holes but no continuing or large rust holes, it is a very rare rust free car of it's age. Doors and rocker panels are solid. I believe the front clip/fenders are original with no rust also. All trim is in very nice shape, no dents, no corrosion, all could be polished as brand new if desired. Interior carpet and seats are in excellent condition. Bright red painted dash is also excellent as well as the new headliner. The factory radio is not hooked up but there is a Rockford Fosgate Stereo/CD nicely mounted in the glove box, with an amp and 10 in" sub mounted in the trunk. The car also has all new shocks, Carpet and interior are new within the last 4 years. Exhaust is about 6 years old and it is aluminized pipes with dual 2 stage Flowmasters that are a quiet rumble at idle but have a nice authority tone at full throttle. If you live nearby come take a look and test drive. I'm selling because I haven't driven it much in the last two years due to having a young child. I am wanting to sell for practical reasons. I don't have much time for hobby cars right now. Please remember, this is a 45 year old car.I am representing it as accurately as I can based on my knowledge and have tried to give as much information as possible. It is being sold without warranty and as is.
