Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1996, the final year, Buick Roadmaster Limited Collector's Edition wagon. This is a rare factory WB4, wood-delete option car, as all Roadmaster wagons had vinyl wood grain applique siding standard, unless the car was special ordered with the WB4 wood-delete code. I am one of the most knowledgeable persons in the country on these cars as myself and my family have had more of them than I can easily count. We still have four '96 Roadmasters and two Caprice/Impalas, from bone stock to highly modified (some pics of one included) These cars in stock form, yield an honest 25-26 mpg hwy and 15-17 mpg city, are a pleasure to drive and are economical to maintain, and last 300,000 miles. They can be enjoyed as-is with their standard regular fuel LT1 Corvette-derived engines, or modified, as I have done to the black one to handle like a Camaro (I have one to make the comparison) and accellerate to the 1/4 mile in 14 or less seconds. To say that this car has been owned by GM B-body enthusiasts would be an understatement. This LDM (light driftwood metallic, all original GM paint) with factory brown paint stripes, wagon was originally bought new in Kansas City, MO. I have a copy of the original title to substantiate this (original documents trump Car-Fax everytime) Its original owner died 5 years ago at the age of 87 (have copy of death certificate, as I needed it to obtain title) and the car went up for sale on Ebay, where both myself and Fred Lesinsky, (ebay Mostly Unusual Cars/Northstar Motors) who is likely THE most knowledgeable person in the country on these cars, as he has sold 1000 of them over the past six or so years - both saw it. With Fred and I being friends, I had Fred buy the car and have it shipped to his dealership, since the car needed a few things and I wanted to make a few changes, and with Fred's resources, that was facilitated. My intent was to set the car up for my parents, who are in their seventies, to use as a backup car for another '96 Roadmaster wagon, that I ordered new for them, that to this day, has only clocked 25,000 miles. For the last five years, my parents have owned and used this LDM wagon, driving it from 57,000 miles to 89,000 miles and they, as the original owner did (I talked to his wife about the car) have always garaged it and have not driven it in snow. What Fred and I did, to set the car up for my parents, five years ago, was to replace the original 2.56 open rear with a factory tow-package car rear in the 2.93 ratio, and also with positraction differential. This rear came from a donor vehicle sourced from California with even lower mileage, We programmed the PCM to account for this change, along with firm shifts, with a Hypertech programmer which will be included, and you can use it as you see fit. This car has the optional external transmission oil cooler in front of the radiator, so it is properly set for towing, but has never been used for such duty, but would only need a HD hitch and wiring to tow. We also installed monroe severe service (police/taxi) front and rear shocks, with coilovers in rear. Car rides tight, not boat-like and the rear will not sag if loaded. We replaced the factory Limited cloth seats with Limited heated leather seats from the donor vehicle, along with the proper full wire harness. In addition to changing EVERY fluid in the vehicle, I changed every hose and belt with original GM parts. The car has a recent (past few months) starter, fuel pump, EGR valve, and battery, engine and differential oil change, all original GM parts. The A/C blows ice cold. Engine and trans perform flawlessly and use no oil. The tires are Kelly Springfield Navigator Gold (made by Goodyear) in the wider, yet same height as stock, 235/70/15 size and they are NEW. The spare is a full size aluminum wheel and tire, never been used. Car has factory CD and Cassette, power seats both sides, power recliners, tilt, cruise, two sets keys with remotes, automatic headlights, p/locks, windows. This car is in stunning original condition, needs no work, has no rust anywhere, on the body, in the door jambs, or under the car. I am selling if for my parents, the title is clear and the reason for the sale is that they are buying an 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 2WD from me to replace it. I just got the Jeep a few weeks ago, they liked it, so the sale of the wagon was not really planned, hence its upkeep has been proper, its NJ inspection doesnt expire until 5/12, and I just detailed the car for them. Check my feedback and bid with confidence on this car, as it is exactly as represented in text and current pictures, which by the way, I took just this week, note the snow. Any questions are answered most quickly by calling me on my cell, 732-539-4040 from 8am-8pm EST. The car can be seen/driven here in Spring Lake, NJ, 07762 (on the Atlantic Ocean, 5 min from exit 98 Garden State Parkway) by appointment. I reserve the right to end the auction early for a local sale, ONLY if someone off the street purchases it for the 'buy it now' price, prior to anyone online reaching the reserve. Thanks for looking.
