Vehicle Detail
I decided to reduce it another $500.00 but that will be the last reduction. I will have to put it away and finish the car with the convertible body. The total for the Imperial is now $3000.00. I know you will not find another Imperial like this for anywhere near this price. Reduced another $500.00 now it is getting close to parting out time. (but don't ask for pats yet) That is a shame, it is a really good car. ---------------- I decided not to part it and will put it on a back burner to do later if it doesn't sell. Last chance!!!!!!!!! Reduced it another $1000.00. We'll see if this works. I reduced th price $1000.00 for another try. Thanks. Added one photo of the dash wood graining since I had not cleaned it before the first photo. You are bidding on a 1937 Imperial 4 door sedan. This car sat all through the 2nd. world war because they could not get gas. Water leaked into one cylinder and ruined the engine. It was taken out at some time and is missing along with the transmission. Not sure how long it sat after that but a friend found it and I got it from him in 1970. It has been in dry storage since. The 8 cylinder engine should not be hard to find with all of the hot rodding going on. I would even use the fluid drive transmission. I will not have time to restore this car since I have too many projects. It has nearly 13,000 original miles on it. It was apparently purchased in Los Angeles and then into the area around Stockton according to my friend. No rust, in fact you can see from the photos most of the under side of the car has the factory paint still shining away. The floor also has shiny black paint. Most of the interior in still nice but someone stole the front and rear cushions out of the car. I was able to find replacement cushions but they are not in good condition. The headliner has no tears or holes. There are two artillery wheels in the photos they are not for the car and two others are on it now and wil go with the car. The bolt circle for the wheels is a 5 on 5" pattern. The glass is all in bad condition, and the paint is also thin and has surface rust in places. The chrome will also need to be redone. The wood graining looks good but show some deterioration I am not asking much for the car so it should find a new home. I do have the drive shaft which is not shown in the photos. For the serious car restorer I found a 1937 four door convertible body that I was going to adapt to the existing body. I will sell this body for an additional $1,500.00 to the buyer if acceptable. It is a very rough car and missing both of the forward top rails above the doors that will have to be made from another top which I have. I do have a clear title for the Imperial. There has been a repair on the body section under the trunk lid and two holes were cut out to access the rear panel to straighten. The paint is original except for small repairs. I cleaned a small spot on the grille to see what it would look like but couldn't find the close up photo. Buyer is responsible for shipping although I will assist in loading. Payment will need to be made for the car within 7 days after the sale. This is not a drivable (although it does roll) car and carries no warrantee. It is a restoration project car. Some parts are missing. Good luck.
