Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1974 CJ5, my grandad owned this jeep since new and i put it in my name after he passed. This is what I have done to it.... The body was taken off and sand blasted, frame sandblasted, both were painted, body also has rhino liner on the underside and inside the floor board. the rear floor was replaced when sandblasted due to pin holes, so the body guy replaced it. it has 3 coats of paint and 2 coats of top coat. the motor is the original 258 straight six, it has been cleaned and gone through by a mechanic. the pistons were changed the rods were changed the clutch and fly wheel were replaced. new mastercylinder, new gaskets, new body spacers, new gas tank, new sending unit, new aluminum radiator, new best top with doors still in the box. new bikini top,new side markers, new brake signal unit, new battery, new foam and leather liner for rool bar. original seats are not the greatest but i have seat covers over them. the tires are good and has nice rims. I have new brake lines still in the box. I was going to replace them when the body was off but the mechanic said the ones on it are in great shape.Has the original gauges. The antenna is not original and the cigerette lighter is not original either. They were lost between the body shop and my shop. This jeep has not seen rain since it was painted. There is no rust and is a very solid jeep. The motor fires up everytime and sounds great. the mechanic said it has Dana rearend and the motor is like new. I have never known this jeep to go four wheelin. My grandad used this jeep on the farm to check the tobacco fields. I got the jeep and let it sit for years then decided I was going restore it. Well I restored it and just looked at it. The mechanic said it has locking hubs and that the 4x4 works fine as well. I dont drive it or go to car shows for displaying it so i figured I would pass it along to someone who would enjoy it. This vehicle just sits in the shop collecting dust. My husband pulled it out of the shop to take these pictures. If you have any questions please ask. I will be more than happy to answer all your questions to the best of my ability. I do have the hard top and doors with the glass. I did not restore this, the paint does not match the jeep. The top will need to be stripped of the paint and repainted. I think it is aluminum I am not sure. You can call me at 336-451-5422 with any questions or you can come see it in person if you like.On Dec-28-10 at 07:22:04 PST, seller added the following information: I had a few people call and ask a few questions so I thought I would add this information as well This is a steel body and is original except for the rear floor pan, it was replaced when the sandblasting was done due to small pin holes. The Hard top has not been restored, It is painted camo from my grandfather when I was about 15 years old. It has the original glass and the glass does roll up and down. There was new black body spacers put on when the body was put back on from painting. I have not drove this jeep in 2 years, but 1 time down the driveway and back last week before deciding to sale it. so about 3000 ft. I have moved it around in the shop a few times just making room for other vehicles but thats it. My mechanic has drove it a few times down the road and back to check things out for me when he was putting the motor back in. so I guess you could say it has about 10 miles on the motor since restore. The only thing i can think of that it will need is to get the new top out of the box and attached it, with the new doors. Or if you dont want to use the soft top you can always repaint the hard top. The original seats are in the jeep but like I said earlier they are not the greatest. I was going to get someone to recover the seats but my husband bought me a 68 Nova and my money has started going into that. So that is why I am selling it. I hope this helps some. Call me if you have any further questions or email me. thanksOn Dec-29-10 at 09:17:21 PST, seller added the following information: ok i got a couple more questions that I feel I need to put on here. ... Do I have the title in hand? Yes the title is in hand and in my name Does the heat work? Yes the heat works. Will I put the hardtop on the jeep to ship it? Yes I will put the hard top on for shipping. My husband just told me that I have the weather stripping for it to be installed but this it the type of top that has to be screwed on and is not the snap on type. Will I allow test drives? yes up and down the 3000 ft driveway. I do not have tags on the vehicle to be driven on the road. I didn't drive it so there was no need in putting tags on it. I do have classic vehicle insurance on the vehicle so if something happened to it in the shop. When is the last time I cranked it? Well my husband cranked it this morning to check the heat for me and it fired right up. I drove it down the driveway a couple weeks ago for the first time in 2 years. My mechanic worked on it in my shop for about 3 months at night putting everything back together. It was easier for him to work on it here then loading up all the stuff and having it in his shop taking up space for other customers. Plus he only lives about 2 miles down the road. Is it all original? NO. As mentioned above the top is new, the master cylinder, the aluminum radiator and etc parts are new. The speedodometer, oil pressure, indicator lights, the volts thing, gear shifter, motor, transmission are original. The gas tank is new and the sending unit is new. There are new parts on the vehicle, just look at the above description on things I might have forgotten. The plastic knob holder that is under the dash does have cracks in it. I have looked everywhere for a new one and was unable to find one. It does hold the knobs fine though. Do I have the front bumpber? Yes the front bumber is here. My husband said he will put it on. Correction on earlier. I misunderstood the person that called earlier. I thought they meant the hardtop had to be on the jeep to ship. But that was their personal preference. So now my understanding is that the top (either hard or soft) will need to be installed for transport. I will have either one installed for the buyer. I was also assked if bought would I do a 30 day refund. I am sorry I can not do a 30 day trial. I don't think if you bought a vehicle from a private person anywhere and then decided 30 days later you didn't like they would take it back. Plus I would not know what you done with the vehcile while you had it. So this is a final sale. You can come see the vehicle or send someone to look at the vehicle for you. All sales final. What is the least I will take for the vehicle? The reserve price is $7500.00. I have been told from several well respected jeep enthusiast that this jeep is well worth the reserve price. Ok i think i have put all the questions that I have had on here. If I get anymore I will post them as well. I have never sold a vehicle on ebay before so I was not real sure what all needed to go here.
