This car last ran in 1969 when the owner took his children in it to see the premier of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California. Soon after he disassembled part of the engine and simply never got it back together. For much of the past 40 years it has been garaged, the other years it has been stored covered in dry - arid Southern California communities. I believe virtually all the parts and extras are there, the Dodge just needs a competent antique car enthusiast to put it together and finish it up. The car has some surface rust but almost all body panels are solid and in good shape. The tires were new in 2009. The milage reads 86026, but this seems high. It is likely the odometer on this antique car is inaccurate. Some addition facts include: Windshield in fantastic shape Headlamps in fantastic shape Doors function Most if not all engine parts present Wood spokes in great shape Brake light original with the word “Stop” that lights up Suspension original and in good shape Chrome bumpers and grill trim in good shape Rolls well and easy to move around Steering works well The seat will need to be restored as the stuffing is coming out The largest piece of panel which is degraded is the floor board in the passenger area. The floor panel in the rumble seat area is rusted and may need to be replaced.
