Vehicle Detail
1998 Suzuki RM250 w/ Texas Certificate of Title History: This is a rare opporutunity to purchase a bike which is in excellent condition, has been maintained perfectly and has less hours than a bike 10 years newer. I purchased this bike from the mid-40's original owner who lived on Lake Conroe. He purchased the bike new from K's Motorsports in Humble, TX. I bought the RM in 2002. In 2002-2003, I rode the bike exactly twice while it was stored in my garage. I decided to transport it to Michigan to keep at my parent's lakehouse so my brother, father and I could ride together once a year. Also, in 2003 my daughter was born so I had no opportunity to ride. For the last 7 years the bike has been located in my father's large climate controlled workshop. I rode the bike on exactly 3 summer vacations over the last 7 years. I'd conservatively estimate that I've ridden this bike for less than a total of 10 hours in the last 8 years. I'd estimate this bike has a total 20-30 hours of riding. It needs nothing. Maintenance: I've owned a variety of dirt bikes and street bikes over the course of my riding career (17 years...I am 34 years old now). I can honestly say this particular RM has been my most reliable dirt bike. This bike is simply a pleasure to start. I've kept the tranny oil 100% fresh. The air filter has been cleaned and oiled before every ride. And of course the chain has been kept lubed. All gas has been drained and the carb run completely empty before storage. The suspension is in excellent shape...absolutely no leaks. Condition: Easy to describe. The bike is in excellent shape and runs perfectly. I've never had a single problem with this bike. In fact, my parents transported the bike back to Texas about 2 weeks ago as they are visitng for the Xmas holidays. I turned on the gas valve and kicked the bike only 4-5 times with tennis shoes! That's after 2 years of sitting in a winterized state. Gotta love it. It will now start in the standard 2-3 kicks. Both tires are in excellent shape, I'd estimate 80-90 percent of tread is left. Note, these are the original OEM tires still! All the original plastic is in fantastic shape, barely a scratch, still glossy, etc. The tank stickers were starting to peel off so I removed them completely. Normal boot wear on the frame near the pegs and on the crankcase cover. I did notice the exhaust has a dent from falling on the right side, see enlarged picture. I've tried my very best to inspect the bike closely and describe the fine details accurately. The bike is 12 years old so don't expect a showroom condition, flawless bike. Having said that, you will not find a comparable bike that's for sure. It is very clean. Feel free to ask me specific questions. Aftermarket parts: The bike as a full aftermarket FMF exhaust. It has an Applied Racing top triple clamp, 1-1/8" aluminum Renthal handlebar, FMF aftermarket seat. It also has a 12oz Stealthy Flywheel weight for prevent low RPM stalling and smoother throttle response (I rode only woods in Michigan). 13 tooth front sprocket, 51 tooth rear sprocket gearing. Why am I selling: I had originally hoped my wife could ride this bike as an upgrade from a KX125, but upon arrival we quickly realized the the throttle response is far too agreesive. So I'm going to use the money to buy a used CRF230. Selling Terms & Conditions: Sorry but I can't ship this bike. A $100 PayPal deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close. The remaining amount is due in cash upon pick-in. The bike is located at my house in Dripping Springs, TX which is just 20 miles west of Austin and about 70 miles north of San Antonio. Please email me through Ebay for pick-up arrangements or to request my contact information so we can speak directly. Please no low ball offers. I won't sell this bike cheaper than $1200 period. In fact, I've listed on Craigslist for $1500 so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I'm in no rush to sell & this thing deserves a good owner!
