Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1988 Suzuki Samurai with 77k Miles. This was purchased off of Ebay by my dad a couple years ago. Unfortunately, my dad passes away 2 monts ago and my mom would like it gone before the new year. Tires are in great conditon with 50%+ tread all the way around. This is a soft top model, so you can enjoy the convertible feel during the summer. Pictures are large and should show great detail, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Auction is listed with no reserve, but the transaction must be complete by Dec. 31, 2010. Local pickup only or may arrange for local delivery within 250 Miles for a fee. Deposit via Paypal of $500 will be required with 24 hrs of auction close with balance payable on delivery. Revised 12/18: I wanted to respond to all your questions as clearly and easily as possible, so I will include the information for all to see. I took the car out for a 30 minute drive today to ensure as much accuracy as possible in these answers: New pictures added to include the engine and the best I could do for the undercarriage 1. Does the Heat and A/C work? Yes, they both seemed to work. The heat was not overwhelming but warmed up within a couple minutes. The A/C seemed to be running, but in 32 degree weather, its hard to tell where it came from. 2. Does the car have a clear title, free from any liens? Yes, this car has never had a lien on it since my dad owned it. Also, this is NOT a salvage title. 3. Does the engine have any leaks or does the engine smoke? No and No. It ran clean and I monitored for leaks for about an hour after I shut off the engine. 4. How does it run? Like a freakin' Tank. I have a feeling you could put a couple bullets through the block and it would just laugh at you. Immediate startup (even though it hasn't been ran in 3 months) and idled solid. 5. How is the Tranny and does the 4 Wheel work? Trany is solid, no slips and shifts smooth. 4 Wheel was tested and working perfectly in 4 High and Low. Front wheels do have locking hubs that need to be adjusted for 4 wheel drive. 6. Does the electrical system work? ie Blinkers, Headlights? Yes, I tested both blinkers and headlights as well as the dimmer on the dash lights. All where fully functioning. 7. Is the soft top tagged and what is the condition? Soft top was not tagged or stamped anywhere I could see. The plastic windows did have a DOT stamped into them. Top is free from any tears or snags. No ripped seams and zippers/snaps seemed perfect. 8. Are there any rust spots? Yes. There is a spot behind the wheel well on the passenger side and a small dime sized spot on the trunk door to the 4 o'clock of the spare tire. My mother also told me there is a hole in the passenger side floorboard, but the form fit floormats covered it. This was my dads daily driver, so any issues that arose were taken care of immedately. My mother assumes the heat/ac were functioning because Missouri highs at 100+ and lows at -0 and he wouldn't drive in either without it. I checked the oil and the level seemed to be where it should according to the dipstick, so I don't believe it is burning oil. The cost for meeting somewhere may be too high for the benefit. 2 cars to the meet, 1 car back and for you just the opposite. Probably cheaper to just buy a 1 way ticket, but we can discuss that when the time comes. Let me know if anything else comes to mind.
