Vehicle Detail
I’m selling without reserve my garaged 2007 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 drive, due to my limited use of the truck. I bought the truck intending to eventually use it as a towing replacement for our diesel Ford Excursion. As a 75 year old retiree I’ve concluded pulling a recreational travel trailer again is highly unlikely. Thus, the sale of my extra truck is providing an excellent buying opportunity for someone seeking a mechanically perfect truck in practically new condition. The truck is the Big Horn edition and has the 6.7 diesel engine with the manual six speed transmission, a most desirable combination for towing. It’s a Patriot blue pearl coat color, four door quad cab with the long 8' box, the preferred length for either a truck camper or fifth wheel hitch. The truck has never been used for towing, even though I bought it with that future intention. It has 31,955 miles on it, of which I have put on less than 5,000 miles as the second owner. The original owner, a local businessman, sold it to me in order to reduce the financial burden it was imposing on him. I installed stainless steel Nerf side bars, wheel flaps, and a Jack Rabbit brand retractable hard tonneau cover which rolls up into various positions, and when closed can be locked. This is a great feature for anyone planning to use a fifth-wheel hitch or to securely store items in the bed of the truck. Wiring and an adapter bracket for a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller is mounted on the dash. The truck has bed liner coating installed as well as a rubber bed floor mat, and in addition, the lower side quarter panels have also been treated with the bed liner material. I did this to protect the paint on the lower panels from stone chips if I ever used it off-road, which I have never done. The Big Horn edition includes factory options such as an anti-spin rear differential axle with a 3.73 ratio, trailer towing package with power fold-away trailer towing mirrors, air conditioning, six-way power driver seat, O/Head console with trip computer, rear sliding window, flat rear seat option, diesel exhaust brake, engine block heater, and Sirius satellite radio (not activated currently). The power of the new 6.7 Cummins diesel with manual transmission is especially effective for mountain driving or towing. The tires are original Michelins which still have several thousand miles of tread wear remaining on them. The truck is like new, both inside and out, and average mileage has been over 16 mpg. If you have any further questions about the truck you can contact me at my email address of rgand@fiberpipe.net, or by phone at (307) 672-6941. Upon request I will email a copy of the Carfax report on the truck to interested bidders. A physical inspection before bidding is certainly encouraged. The truck has a clear title and is garaged at my home in Big Horn, near Sheridan, Wyoming.
