Vehicle Detail
I928 Model A Ford Phaeton RIGHT HAND DRIVE. Frame/Body/Front End/ Rear End, Engine, Transmission. I traded this Model A Phaeton for labor from a friend about 30 years ago. (Frame/Body/RearEnd/Front End/Steering wheel & Column. It also came with parts including an engine and right hand drive transmission, I do not know if the engine and transmission are from this Model A. I have bought top bows, wheel rims, trunk and a few misc. parts to go with it. I could not title it without it being road ready. I contacted California DMV and was told that I (or the owner) could get a title if it was road ready and had the receipts for the frame, body and transmission. It has been stored in one of my sheds, completely out of the weather until now. I will cover it from the rain until sold. The frame and the body seem to be original. I looked for the frame number but can't find it. The body is stamped 9-5-28 on the fire wall. The Engine number is *A1208164*. The paint was sanded down somewhat, when I bought it and was primered on one side. The rust color you see in the pictures is mostly SURFACE rust. There is rust problems in the some of the Quarter Panel areas and some of the fender bead areas. The Engine turns over very easy by hand. Still has oil in it. The Top Bows are in good shape, no rust problems, Surface Only. The front wood piece is missing. The Right Hand Drive Transmission shifts very easy. There is One Pedal Missing. The Rear End looks good, still has grease and turns easy. I filled the gas tank, with gas and let it set for one week and it showed no signs of a leak. There is 11 wheel/rims, 6 are early and 5 are later models. Most of them have been sandblasted but never painted. 1 of the later rim drums is not good, needs to be welded. Another needs repair where the spokes meet the rim. It looks to me that the 6 early rims will restore ok. The "new" tires, (never used), were on the rims when I bought them. They look good but I would not use them. The trunk is included. It looks to be very restorable. The tail light is in good shape. The lens reads," MADE IN ENGLAND" Please look at all the pictures. Ebay will not allow any more? I have tried to describe this Phaeton with all honesty. I did not try to remove any paint, rust etc. I will say again that there is only surface rust except as stated above. I realize you will not know for sure unless you make a personal inspection, please do. I can not answer all your Question in my description. Please feel free to contact me any time via Ebay email or call 661-285-4951 from 6-9 PM PST. Thanks for looking and I hope you get your $$$ worth.
