Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1995 Dodge Stealth. It's in awesome condition, great fun to drive and the same car as the Mitsubishi 3000GT, just with slightly different body trim. The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm finding that my son has outgrown the back seat and I need something a little bigger. The exterior is in great shape. It's never been in any accidents and the factory green paint still looks fresh. No rust. Nothing more than a few small imperfections typical of a 15-year-old car that's been well cared for. Probably the only negative to the exterior is that the car still had stock steel wheels with dated looking hubcaps when I bought it. Eventually one of the caps was lost so I took the rest off until I could buy a fitting set of performance wheels. I still have the remaining three if you're interested, but the car would really look better with a simple set of alloy wheels. All four tires are nearly new and only have a few thousand miles of wear on them. The Stealth is in great shape mechanically too. Right after I bought the car, I replaced both valve cover gaskets and the front crank seal. That and the tires were all it needed. Best of all, the car just got a full tune up last week. It got new plugs and wires, plus a new air intake gasket. This adds another $200 value and it runs perfectly now. The gray interior is in exceptional shape too. There are no rips or wear on the front seats. There are some spots on the edges of the seats that look white in the photographs, but it was just the flash. They are not worn. Even the stock floor mats emblazoned with "Stealth" still look great. One of the back seats has a small one inch slit near the top and they are just slightly faded from the sun, but the slit would be an easy fix and the fabric still has plenty of life in it. Air-conditioning blows ice cold and the heat and all electrical work perfectly. The car has an aftermarket stereo with a handy auxilliary out for plugging in your iPod or MP3 player. I wanted the interior to be perfect so I replaced an overhead light assembly and a center A/C vent that was broken. I also restored the center console lid because a plastic support inside had cracked. The '95 model doesn't sport the pop up headlights seen on earlier models of the Stealth. If you've had a car with pop up lights before, you'll know that's a good thing. Inevitably they fail and are costly to repair. Instead, the '95 has nice modern looking enclosed headlight housings. They were a little cloudy when I bought the car a year ago, so I had them professionally restored and they passed inspection with no problems. In fact the whole car passed MD inspection with no problem earlier this year and it's unlikely anything has changed. You should have no problem putting it on the road if you're keeping it in Maryland or another state that requires safety inspection. Here are the specs of this model: Engine - 3.0L V-6 164 HP Transmission - 5-speed manual w/OD Fuel Economy - 19.0 mpg city/24.0 mpg highway (I've actually been tracking the mileage myself and find performance to be slightly better than these factory specs) Powertrain - Front wheel drive Brakes - front disc/rear drum Carpeted cargo floor Cruise control Power door locks Power windows Remote keyless entry Remote trunk/hatch release (mechanical lever on floor) Remote fuel flap release (mechanical lever on floor) Tach/Oil Pressure/Water Temp on racing style instrument cluster over center console Leather steering wheel Rear wiper Rear defroster Dual airbags If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I will be happy to answer whatever you'd like to know. Local bidders are welcome to contact me to arrange coming by to check out the Stealth in person. The car is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. There is a Buy It Now price of $2,800, which I feel is very reasonable compared to Stealths in similar condition that I have seen sell here on eBay recently. I'm starting the auction with a $1 bid and a reserve that is hundreds and hundreds less than the BIN price, so bid with confidence. Payment: A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction's close. The deposit may be paid with PayPal. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of the auction's close and may be paid with a cashier's check or in cash. If these payment terms are not satisfied or alternate payment arrangements agreed upon by both parties, I reserve the right to relist the item or offer it to the next highest bidder. Shipping: Local pickup is obviously the preferred method of delivery for this vehicle. I will be happy to deliver or meet the winning bidder within 100 miles of Hagerstown, MD for a $30 delivery charge. That would include either Dulles or BWI airports if you live farther away and would like to fly in to pick up the car. I'd feel totally comfortable driving this car anywhere. If you'd prefer to have the car shipped to your location, I will be happy to accommodate loading up the car with a car carrier service of your choice and at your expense. As long as the full balance is paid within the time period specified above, I am happy to store the car in my protected driveway until it's convenient for you to take delivery. _gsrx_vers_419 (GS 6.0.7 (419)) On Nov-17-10 at 11:07:08 PST, seller added the following information: Update: It's important to me that the Stealth run as well as possible for the new owner, especially if they are going to be driving it a long distance to get home, so the car is in the shop today getting new plugs and wires, plus a replacement intake gasket while he's in there. This adds an additional $160 value to the car, so if you're bidding or planning to bid please be confident you're looking at a well maintained vehicle. On Dec-01-10 at 15:47:12 PST, seller added the following information: Someone asked for a photo of the engine, so I thought I'd post it here for everyone to see. As you can see, it's nice and clean.
