1985 300D Turbo Diesel with 175k documented miles. I have a big folder full of receipts / service records going back to the 90s. Extremely reliable, great on fuel (30mpg HWY), well maintained. Options: Usual factory options, which ALL work – power windows, cruise control, heated seats, etc. etc. Aftermarket options: in-dash AM/FM/CD/DVD/MP3/DirectLink-Ipod 7” Flip-Out Touch-Screen head-unit, Kenwood Navigation, multi-zone alarm system with keyless entry (yes, all vacuum locks work perfectly), and top of the line MB Quart speakers. More recent maintenance: Entire new front end, new Michelin tires, all fluids flushed and replaced with Mercedes brand fluids, new rear axle boots, new heater monovalve and controls, the list goes on and on! What does the car need? The A/C needs to be serviced and charged. It has worked fine in the past, but has recently lost its charge (compressor will not automatically come on when A/C is turned on, but can be manually triggered to show it’s still functional). I am assuming it’s a leak which needs to be found, fixed, and the system recharged. Last note – if you are looking for a show car, this is not the car for you – this car has been my daily driver, and for its year/model, has relatively low mileage – should provide many more years/miles of rock-solid Mercedes Benz reliability only found in this vintage car (if you know your Mercedes vehicles, you know what I am talking about). I believe rating the condition of any car is very subjective - to me the body is in great condition - there are no visible rust areas, and all body panels and frame are straight. The top surfaces of the car (hood/top of cab/trunk) have been repainted by a previous owner, I am assuming because of fading from the sun. The interior of the car is in good condition as well. It has the leather seats (not the Mb-Tex), and with that, there are a couple small cracks on the driver seat. The dash is in near perfect/pristine condition. Carpet is in good condition (I've always had MB rubber mats on top of the carpet). The engine/transmission function as they should. This is a NO RESERVE Auction!! Highest bidder takes the car.
