Vehicle Detail
This is a 1969 Dodge Charger 383 automatic car. There is some rust, but not as bad as it looks. It will need a trunk pan and possibly a left quarter. The quarter could be sectioned and patched but I would put a quarter on it. The floor pans are solid but do have surface rust. May be some small holes. The motor compartment is in good shape and the battery tray looks good. The car does not come with a motor or transmission. I will put wheels on it to help get it on a trailer. The wheels will be old stock steel wheels and the tires good enough to air up. I have collected these kinds of cars since high school and this one I found about 3 years ago. Me and my son were going to restore it as that is what I do for a living. However, my wife has had some medical problems and I need to sell some of my someday projects to pay the bills. I painted a corvette for this car. This car is mostly all there. The interior will need to be replaced but does have the instrument panel and radio etc. The seats will need recovering but are in fair shape considering how most look. It does have a console but not sure if it is perfect or not. It appears to be ok, but may have a crack as they often do upon closer inspection. It has the sport stearing wheel. The undercarriage apears to be in better shape than most. Over the next few days I will get the car out and clean it up somewhat and get some better pictures. Also if anyone wants specific photos let me know. The buyer will be given a bill of sale. The buyer will also be required to post $500.00 into my paypall account for the deposit within 3 days of the end of the auction. The remainder will be due in cash at the time the car is picked up, which must be within 10 days of the end of the auction unless further arrangements are made. I will also do what I can to help get the car loaded for transport. This car is for sale as is, no warranties or refunds whatsoever, what you see is what you will get, so please ask for specific information or pictures before bidding. If you send an e-mail my e-mail address is candycharles2@sbcglobal .net. This is not the e-mail e-bay shows because I changed it years ago. But if I change my address with e-bay I lose my stars so I have to keep it listed. Thanks for looking! On Nov-29-10 at 17:39:20 PST, seller added the following information: I've pulled the car out and took some more pictures. It is hard to show everything on a car with just 24 pictures, but if anymore is needed just e-mail me at candycharles2@sbcglobal.net Some things to note: The console looks to be in good shape which is fairly rair in my experience. There are some small holes drilled into the top shifter cover but the plastic frame is remarkably good. The dash pad is good except for two little holes where someone mounted something. All the glass is good. The grill is complete but not absolutely perfect, some of the chrome trim is slighly bent but not unworkable. The firewall and core support are in very good condition. The core support is not bent from motor removal which is uncommon. The reason the car was parked originally is because of a wiring fire, and I say this because the motor wiring harness looks to be melted. The hood is one of the better ones I have seen, and both lights are in it, but the wire that goes to one of them is missing. Not sure if it is just down in the hood. I only saw maybe 2 small dings in the hood. The frame rails all look very good, no rusting out of any frame, just the trunk pan and gas tank. The car has the normal small rust holes in the corners of the rear glass and has a little rust behind the wheels on the corner. The rear body panel that the tailights mount into have a few small rust holes which may be visible in the photos. Of course there is the big rust hole on top of the left quarter, which is one of the most unusual rust spot locations I have seen on this kind of car. Over all with me being a bodyman, I would replace the left quarter, the front valance (which does have the signal lights), and the trunk pan. The floor boards look good enough to me for just minor patching. The doors, fenders, hood, right quarter and decklid all look good enough to be worked and not replaced. Other than the trunk and gas tank the underneath of the car looks better than average. The odometer reads 0900 something so I assume the car has about 109,000 on it. This looks about right as the seat covers are in fair shape, but have gotten hard and will need to be replaced. It's a good project car as the car has not been dissasembled. It's pretty much as is when parked. Remember, as I stated before...the car comes with a "Bill of Sale" . The guy I got the car from could not find the title. Any questions or if you need more pictures...I have a bunch. Just e-mail me at candycharles2@sbcglobal.net and I will send them to you. Thank you for all those who have expressed interest in the car. I have a 1968 charger that is a 383 car just like this one that I will list later, but this one, the 1969 is the better car.
