No grandiose claims of "best on Ebay, etc.", but I do have for sale a very nice clean, mechanically sound bike. I had wanted a 1987 GL1200 for some time and when I retired 2 years ago I used my bonus to purchase this bike on Ebay from a 79 year old gent from Tennessee who absolutely babied it. A knee injury a year ago has left me unable to ride safely. For those of you not familiar with this model it is water-cooled, shaft-driven, overdrive (5th gear), electronic cruise control, AM/FM cassette radio with CB and intercom, on-board compressor adjusts both front and rear suspension (attach hose from the toolkit and fill the tires), digital dash, air horn drivers backrest (adjustable), removeable luggage bags. There is lots of chrome, some not on the bike that I took off for my tastes. Also included is an UltraGard full cover, Honda shop manual, plus Haynes and Clymer manuals, Scorpion EXO-700 full-face helmet, size Large, with J&M intercom installed, plus a J&M intercom that is for an open-face helmet. The one problem that these bikes have had is with the stator. The previous owner had put on a lot of after market lighting, causing excessive strain on the stator. He had also installed chrome engine covers that block air flow to the stator, causing it to run hot. I took the bike to our local Honda Dealer and had them remove the lighting, clean up the wiring, install a new OEM stator, and while the engine has out had them install a new OEM water pump.
