Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful 1975 Porsche Carrera 911 in original, unmolested condition. I've owned this preservation-class candidate for 4 years and put less than 1,000 miles on it. Previous owner was also a collector. I bought this car, #38 of 395 made, with the intention of doing a full concours restoration on it but found the car to be in such excellent condition that I had a hard time justifying the project...hence, it's now for sale as is. This car gets a lot of praise and comments from people who see it on the street. Classic 70s color, familiar Porsche sound, car is in fastastic shape! Car weighs just 2,576 pounds. Car and Driver clocked the '75 Carrera 0-60 at 6.2 seconds. The Chocolate paint (code 408) is original. Though it hasn't been polished, waxed, or even detailed since I've owned it, it's still got great depth and shine. No accidents, dents, or rust on this car! The car comes with a recent, full pre-purchase inspection from Stoddard Porsche in Willoughby (OH), a Porsche dealer and vintage Porsche parts supplier. The car is currently garaged a mile from Stoddard. Everything but the clock and the window washers are operational. Engine compression is 130 psi with all cylinders within a 5 psi range. Even the original radio works, though the car needs new speakers. Car was sold new by Stammler Porsche in Boulder, Colorado in March 1975. Original Owner's Manual / Maintenance Record is included with dealer stamps and manual entries from new through 82,000 miles. Dash and knee pads are perfect. Leather front seats are in average condition. The underside of the car is damage and rust free. The trunk is immaculate with no rust around the battery area or front section (a place where water can collect and do damage in poorly maintained cars). There are some sand/rock chips on the front spoiler. The engine was rebuilt and updated with Carrera tensioners at 70,000 miles - no smoke, leaks, drips, and starts on first try. The car currently has 87,500 miles on it. The wheels are 7 and 8 by 15 Fuchs, restored by Harvey Weidman - these wheels were optional for the 1975 Carrera. Tires are fresh Toyo Proxies in 205 and 215 60s. Interstate battery. Front windshield was replaced. That's it, those are the only updates/modifications other than standard maintenance items. Shocks are original and are still tight. Also included are a set of restored Recaro replacement sport seats. A recent market report in Excellence pegs the going prices for "good" examples at $29,152 and "excellent" examples at $39,025. The car is listed for sale on the Porsche Club of America website (www.pca.org) for $27,900. The car has a clean, clear title and has a current New Jersey collector car registration. Mileage is verified on title as original.
