Vehicle Detail

You're looking at a beautiful 1973 MGB GT equipped with the rare overdrive option. It is painted in its original Bronze Yellow color. I purchased this GT from the very particular previous owner of nearly 30 years. There are dozens of receipts dating back to the early 1980s including an engine rebuild. This car runs and drives beautifully. It starts easily and cruises nicely, especially so with the overdrive on at highway speeds. The odometer reads just over 60,000 miles; but due to the age of the car, it should not be presumed to be accurate. Please read the details below: EXTERIOR: Excellent, professionally done paint with no orange peel and great panel fit. Virtually no dents or dings, even though paint was done several years ago. Bumper chrome is like new. The rest of the exterior trim is also very good, including side trim. There is some light scratching on the door glass, but the rest of the glass is fine. Sills and rockers are very solid. INTERIOR: Very attractive navy blue interior. Seats and carpets were redone a few thousand miles ago and are very good. Dash and door panels are also very good. (see pictures) ENGINE and TRANSMISSION: Excellent compression on all cylinders. Pulls well in every gear. Shifts smoothly with good clutch operation. Overdrive in proper working order. BRAKES: New rear brakes. Front brakes have plenty of pad life. Very solid pedal and no pulling or pulsating. New handbrake cable just installed. ELECTRICAL: All exterior lights, horns, signals, wipers, instruments and charging system in proper working order. Battery is only two years old. Original BMC AM/FM radio in proper working order. Courtesy lights not working. I have not had them checked. TIRES: New Bridgestone 175/70x14 radials on refinished "Rostyle" wheels. SUSPENSION and STEERING: In proper working order including shocks, springs and steering rack. No slop or excess play. I am a licensed Illinois dealer with over thirty years of experience in dealing in new and used cars. I sold my new car dealerships four years ago, and now specialize in British sports cars. This car is a very nice example of a chrome-bumper GT. It has been priced with a very reasonable reserve, which won't be disclosed in fairness to all bidders. Please check my eBay feedback. Your pre-purchase inspection is welcomed and encouraged. I will also be happy to send any other pictures or answer any questions. Please remember that this is a 37 year old car, which is being sold as-is. Please do not bid unless you intend to buy, and have the funds available. Your bid will be treated as a binding contract. I will also be happy to assist with shipping. THANKS FOR LOOKING! On Nov-19-10 at 18:52:53 PST, seller added the following information: I've received a couple of questions about rust. To the best of my knowledge, there are no rust issues with this car. There is no rot, bubbling, or suspect areas on any of the body panels. The floors and inners sills are solid, as well as the frame crossmember and jacking points. The pictures really don't do this car justice. Again, please feel free to ask for any information or photos.
