Up for sale is my 1963 Austin Healey Sprite MK2. I am relisting this vehicle with a lower reserve . Bodywise, this car is very straight and clean. The paint shows well, the sides and rocker panels are clean. The floors and rear springpans are very solid. This is not a creampuff, but a nice, honest example. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner: New pistons and rings(2 over), new bearings, oil pump, gaskets, etc. It runs great, with good oil pressure, does not smoke, and revs out nicely. The transmission shifts well into all gears, and does not pop out of gear. The brake/clutch master cylinder was rebuilt, also the calipers. I installed new shoes, new rear wheel cylinders, pads, stainless steel brake hoses, and new brake discs. The brake pedal is very firm and the car stops as it should. The cooling system functions properly, with a new water pump. It did not overheat, even on those hot August days. (Believe me, I drove the Sprite a lot this past summer). I cleaned and rewrapped the wiring harness. I also converted to negative ground and installed a Lucas alternator, plus a newer fusebox. No wiring was cut, and none of the modifications are permanent,so you can switch the car back if you're a purist. ( I even have the original generator and control box). The wheels were sandblasted, painted, and new tires were installed in the correct size. They really look nice on the car. The front bumper has a few dents and some pitting, the rear bumper has a few pits also but looks nice. Overall, this Sprite looks like a clean, original , honest car. This is the MK 2, with side curtains ( which are not perfect, but still nice). The top is tatty, but functional. Once again, I have lowered the reserve, which is a lot less than I put into this car in time, work, and money.
