Vehicle Detail

This is a nice 1988 1/2 model Suzuki samurai 4X4, which I have owned since 2000. The odometer shows 95,800 miles but this Suzuki has a lot LESS actual miles, most of its life it was towed behind an RV by the individual that originally owned it before I purchased it. When I bought it it looked like it had hardly been driven and the owner said most of the miles were all from being towed behind, so the ACTUAL miles are very few which can be verified by its condition. I left the original welded tow bar on the front after I purchased it for added protection. In the 10 years plus I have owned it I have put on about 5000 actual driving miles. That being said the Samurai drives and looks very good. In the years I have owned it I have replaced the tires and added aftermarket Amereican chrome wheels, chrome tube bumper, new BestTop, new shock absorbers, new brake pads, plugs, wires, O2 sensor, fuel pump and filter, new muffler and performed changes on fluids, changed motor oil regularly with synthetics. This has a very good working factory Air Conditioning, 4 wheel low/high works as it should and has been worked recently. There is no noticable rust on the car, it has the full factory carpet and even protective rubber mat in back pickup area. I have the original back seat which I have out of the car so I can use the back cargo area fully. Paint on vehicle is in very good original clearcoated condition, color is a beautiful silver blue metallic. There are virtually no noticable dents or body work except in one place, the drivers side front quarter panel. A few years back a loose tire off a trailer in the opposite lane I was in rolled across the median and clipped the front end driver headlight/ quarter panel pushing it in, I had the panel replaced and the clearcoat and paint is not as good as the original paint, but it matches close and it still looks presentable. The interior is in very nice condition , the front seats have a few small splits in various sections of vinyl but they are all original, intact and not ratty at all. All the door panels in very good original condition. This has the newer updated dash and the improvements that came with suspension etc. during the 88 1/2 model mid year introduction for the Samurais. When I purchased vehicle original owner had modified the exhaust and put a straight pipe in place of catalytic convertor, since locally at that time we did not require exhaust testing for 88' 4X4 in my area, and intended use would be on private rural farm/ranch area, I just left as is. Depending on your location and type of use and local inspections you may or may not require this. Local muffler shop charges about 150.00 to put one on to comply with present local inspection, which I will have done after sale if you require it, or I will credit you the 150.00 off the sale price if you want as is and you do what you wish, just let me know your intention after purchase. This will make a great daily driver or a nice farm ranch vehicle that beats the heck out of the utility vehicles they have today with not only convertible ability, pickup mule ability, air and heat to go with it. Over the years I collected various used OEM replacement parts for my Suzuki with the intention of keeping for a very long time, these include to best of my memory since I have spare parts stored and packed away, at least two extra carburetors with all the fittings and solenoids, hoses, lenses, extra radiator, alternator, clips screws fasteners etc, including the original white factory matching wheels, also more parts but I just cant remember all that I have stored but it is a real find, a lot of value in hard to find original parts, I will also include all of this with the vehicle to the lucky buyer. I just have too many other projects and vehicles to use the Suzuki regularly, so I decided to put it up for sale to let someone else enjoy this cool little 4X4. Happy bidding On Nov-06-10 at 12:33:02 PDT, seller added the following information:I added some further pics at: www.use.com/Suzuki_Samurai_9eb9dce1a9466afa0a27 The original owners manual is still with the car and included. The Samurai has tinted front windows and a trailer hitch, also the radio is original and works. The parts that go with the vehicle are referenced in the photos. I did not unpack them but there is extra carbs, starter, alternator, lift kit shackles which I never installed, radiator, extra rubber moldings, besides what is referenced in the main ad and more. The extra spare softtop is torn in the back area but It is included also.I have all 4 original white wheels, only two are shown in the picture, the other two not shown stll have old tires on them. Engine photos as requested by some can be viewed at above URL, just copy the link in your browser and it should get you to the extra pictures. Hope this helps all interested.
