Up for sale is our 2000 New Beetle Turbo. It's a GLS, 1.8 Turbo with the following options: 1.8 Turbo engine Automatic Transmission Leather seats Heated seats Alloy Wheels CD Changer Power Moonroof Limited Edition Color We originally leased the car new in 2000. My wife loved the car so much, we bought out the lease and kept it for another seven years. The color of the car is "Reflex Yellow". Likely, you haven't seen another this color, there were only 2000 of them produced and only in the year 2000. I'll do my best to detail the condition of the car below, but feel free to ask questions: Body: Car has some dings and scratches, as you would expect on a 10 year old vehicle, but no major body damange. I've shown photos of the worst of the damage - parking lot scrapes on the rear fenders. Interior: Car has leather interior which is in good condition. There is a spot on the drivers seat below the seating surface (which VW decided to make vinyl instead of leather) that has cracked from use. You can see it in the pictures. Also, Volkswagen decided to use plastics with a rubberized coating on the dash and doors. This stuff is very easily scratched, so it definitely shows wear, however, not any more than other VW's of the same age I've seen. Mechanical: Car runs and drives great. I've always changed oil using synthetic blend to keep the turbo happy. Auto transmission shifts very nicely, no slipping. There are a few things to be aware of - the air conditioner works, but has a leak. I've simply been recharging it with a can of R134A from the auto parts store occassionally and it seems to keep working just fine. If you buy the car, I'll include the hose to recharge the AC. The alarm and buttons on the key fob stopped working about 5 years ago. Recently the ABS light on the dash came on. I'm told it's most likely a wheel sensor ($35 part) but I'm not sure. Tires have 40 - 50% of their tread left. Title: We moved to Texas 3 years ago and the car has been inspected and registered in Texas since. Despite having filled out all of the paperwork and paying the fees, Texas never issued a title. As a result, the car is still titled in Kansas. The title is clear, no liens, in my position and not a salvage title and should transfer without any problems. I just didn't want any surprises when it came time to sign the title over. Mileage: The car turned from 89,999 to 90,000 just this morning (Sunday, October 31st, 2010). That's only 9,000 miles per year on this car!! Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
