1980 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Indy Pace Car This 1980 Indy Pace Car Trans Am is loaded with all the options you expect on this car to include the Indianapolis 500 Turbo Trans Am Pace Car Option, Power Steering, 4 Wheel Power Disc Brakes, Factory Air Conditioning, Factory Mirrored T-Tops, Tilt Steering, Bucket Seats, Deluxe Oyster Interior, Console, Tach & Gauges, 15 x 8 Inch Aluminum Wheels, Hood Mounted Turbo Lights, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Unique Indy Pace Car Interior, Unique Indy Pace Car Exterior Paint, Radio, Power Antennae, Posi-Traction Rear-End and more. Mileage on this car at the time of this auction shows 93,000 miles. Since this car is over 10 years of age I am selling this car as “Mileage Exempt” for reporting purposes. This car came from the previous owner of 19 years. The car has been parked for a long time and is in need of restoration. The exterior of the car is very complete with all the correct spoilers and spats on the car. A lot of the car is still original paint that is in poor condition. The front lower spoiler is complete and in decent condition. The front bumper cover is complete with 1 small cut at the corner of the left parking light grills. The front parking light grills are gone. The original hood is in good condition and is not bent at the hood hinges. The insert for the “Turbo Charge” lights is in nice condition and is NOT cracked. Both front fenders are in good condition and do not have any rust through at the bottom of the fenders. Both doors are original to the car and in good condition. The original VIN stickers are still on the drivers door and are very legible. The rear quarter panels on the car are in nice condition along with the rear quarter panel spats. The lower trunk drop-offs behind the quarter panels on both sides are excellent. The rear cross member below the bumper is excellent with NO rust. The rear bumper cover is decent as are the rear taillights. The trunk lid on the car is the worst panel on the car as it is rusty and needs replaced. This is the only panel on the car that needs replaced. All 3 rear spoiler pieces are complete and original to the car. The floor pan in the car is excellent with no rust or damage. The rear trunk pan is excellent with no rust or damage. Refer to the pictures. All the glass in the car is original. The front windshield is cracked. The original and Pace Car unique mirrored T-Tops are in nice condition and original to the car. The base of the front windshield is excellent with no rust. Mechanically the car is very complete with the exception of the original Turbo Charged 301 engine which has been replaced with an Oldsmobile 403 engine. The car still retains the turbo 350 automatic transmission and posi-traction 10 bolt rear-end with rear disc brakes. The unique white 15 x 8 aluminum wheels are with the car but missing the correct center caps. The car starts, runs and pulls itself in gear. The car is not road worthy as the brakes are down and therefore cannot be driven home. This car will need to be transported. The car still has the original catalytic converter along the correct mufflers and split tailpipes. The A/C is complete less the A/C compressor and mounting brackets. The tires on the car are very old and dry rotted. The headlights, taillights and brake lights work on the car. The power windows work properly. The gauges work properly along with the horn. The tilt steering column is tight. The radio is missing. The unique Turbo Charge light system console switch is still in the car. The interior in the car is very complete and rough. The dash pad is cracked. The glove box liner and door are in good shape. All the gauges are complete and work. The “engine turned dash” bezel is in good condition. The leather wrapped steering wheel needs recovered. The carpet in the car is original and soiled but not torn. The front and rear seats are original. The front seat covers are poor however the seat frames and plastic seat backs are good. The rear seats are original and decent. The original headliner is falling. The Pace Car unique door panels are complete along with the original white armrests that are in good condition. The original seat belts are complete. Overall this is a Indy Pace Car Trans Am project car but a very good and SOLID project car that is NOT RUSTY!
