You are bidding on a 1996 Nissan Sentra. We purchased this vehicle used off a lot in Sept. 06 with 74k mi. It has served us well as a school car for our daughter. It has recently developed an intermittent idling problem. When the problem surfaces it idles rough and almost stalls. The problem disappears as unexpectedly as it appears. We have nick-named the problem "The Gremlin". When the Gremlin goes to sleep the car runs excellent (no exaggeration). I have exhausted 3 mechanics on this and have thrown in several new parts- Distributor (Genuine Nissan $400.00),Coolant Temp.Sensor, Reference Crank Sensor and a Idle Control Motor., I put in a used Engine Control Module and all the typical tune up parts. The last mechanic to work on it is a top-notch Wrench from a Nissan Dealer in our area. The latest consensus is that there must be an intermittent wiring problem somewhere in the system. Rear Struts were installed April 2010 the car has a good stance as you can see in the photos. The tires were put on at 89,449k and have fair tread left. The brakes were done approx. the same time (I misplaced the paperwork on the brake job). My daughter put a nice Sony Stereo/CD player in it in 07. All the vehicle systems and accessories work. Other then the Gremlin the only flaws are the obvious body rust and paint scratches as indicated in the photos. Sometimes in a heavy rain the trunk gets damp. We took good care of this car the whole time our daughter drove it. I intend to be as honest as possible with this sale questions are welcomed. Please- SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY, who know the value of the parts that have been installed. Yes, the engine has an intermittent idling problem, but we are not ready to drive it to the junk yard yet. I am done throwing money and time at this project and would like to pass it on to someone willing to finish flushing out the Gremlin. I also do not have a need for the car any more since I married off my daughter last week and my new son-in-law wants nothing to do with a car occupied by a Gremlin. The vehicle does NOT have manual transmission, this Nissan is automatic. The error was not noticed until the vehicle was already listed and could not be corrected.
