Up for action is this beautiful unrestored 1966 BMW R50/2 with the rare US type front forks. I bought this bike about 5 years ago from the original owner and replaced the exhaust system due to the fact that it was missing. The paint is in good condition and all original with some nicks and scratches in all the right places to show its age. The bikes top end has been disassembled and completely inspected and rebuilt. New 2nd over pistons, cylinders bored and honed, heads milled and valve seats re-cut and lapped. The top end was reassembled without any fancy exterior restoration to keep with the looks of the rest of the bike. All fluids are fresh including engine, trans, fork, drive shaft and final drive. New ignition point installed and timing set and brand new (within the last month) Metzeler tires. All work was completed at my motorcycle shop where we specialize in vintage and classic bikes. I had no intention on selling this bike and its been in my personal collection for awhile but its time for this one to go to a home so it can get ridden. This bike is perfect if you love the looks of vintage bikes that look ridden and not abused. This bike runs and rolls down the road great and all electrical items work except for the horn.
