1984 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Camper Bus $3800.00 Fuel injected Watercooled 1.9 Litre Motor (1915cc motor), 144,000 miles California VAN no RUST! The Good: Most important! Replaced ALL fuel lines with new high pressure hoses and clamps. If you've ever seen a van burned to the ground you'll realize why this is the most important and best money fix you can do a FI motor van! New fuel pump and filters. New Coil, plugs and wires. New exhaust and O2 sensor. New Clutch, clutch/brake master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder! New Throttle cable New break light switches. New brakes all around. New heavy duty sidewall load bearing tires on the rear. New rear heater fan motor. New idle control sender. Auxiliary battery connection. Stove, sink and refrigerator all work well. Rear facing jump seat installed. There's more I just can't recall right now. The bad: Needs a new wiper motor or relay. Needs a new sliding door exterior handle. Needs new gas shocks for rear hatch door. There are a few dents, (nothing major) and digs. Cracked passenger side mirror. Faded upholstery. Carpet is worn, very worn. There are a few small holes in the tent, we have patched them but it is not like new. I can't quite get the idle control tuned perfectly. It throtles up and back down while at an idle. This only effects fuel consumption slightly otherwise I've been told by several VW gurus it will not harm the engine. The front Michelins have about 30,000 miles on them which isn't a lot and they have good tread and handle rain and snow well, they are showing some checking. This Van..Ishmael, has served our family very well and has been a good friend. In the winter of 2009 we drove him from Grand Marais, MN. (near the Canadian border) through Mexico to the Belize border and back. There were a few hiccups along the way but we made the full 10,400 mile round trip together. We hate to see him go but we no longer use him as he should be used so we're letting him go.
