Vehicle Detail
1969 Dodge Dart GT Convertible I am listing my Dart again this time with no reserve, that means the final high bidder gets the car!! If you don't have the money, please don't bid. I have to get my tuition paid ASAP ( it was due August 23rd) and don't have time to mess around with scammers. I bought this Dart back in April of 2007 and have done a lot of upgrades to it since. I get looks in it wherever I go and everyone always gives me thumbs up! I had planned on restoring this to go along with my Dad's ( he has a 67 Dart GT Convertible ) but right now I need the money a lot more than one of the coolest Mopars out there. It was originally a power top, manual steering, manual drum brake, glass back window slant six dart. I upgraded the whole front end to power disc brakes, power steering, large bolt pattern wheels and so on. ( I took all of the parts off of a 73 Dart Sport so they are the better quality ). Within the past 2 years I have added new black carpet, replaced the top with a new one from Year One ( with the glass window ) and installed the kick panels with speakers molded into them ( they are very nice, see pics ). I also have the carpet that goes around the base of the center console, but it is not installed yet. The CD player is mounted under the dash so the dash was not butchered when it was put in. Last year my Mom re-upholstered the seats and put a custom touch by having them say Dodge Dart in stitching on them ( see the pictures ). As you can see, I was in the process of changing the interior to black. I hadn't redone the door panels yet because I was planning on adding power windows and putting in custom door panels similar to the seats. The passenger door does not have the speaker installed in the door because, in order to do so, some metal needs cut away and I didn't want to do that ( the door speakers were there when I got it ). The frame and the majority of the sheet metal is solid but there are the typical convertible rust issues . It could either use some bondo work or replace the rear passenger quarter, the rear driver side behind the tire, and some metal work along where the convertible top meets the body in the back. I took some pictures of the rough spots around the convertible top. The passenger door is a replacement door off of a 68 Dart. My plans with the car were to make it more of a modern driver but with the cool old body style. I was going to either add EFI and a turbo to the slant six or drop in a 3G hemi . I was going to add power windows, power locks, cruise control, a/c and lots more, but unfortunately my circumstances won't permit it. This will make someone a very nice car. You can drive it as it is or park it in your garage and work on it over the winter and have one awesome car next spring. I have listed everything to the best of my abilities and have mentioned everything that I could think of. If I remember anything I have overlooked I will post the info. The car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please ask any and all questions you may have. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due via PayPal within 48 hours of the end of auction and the remainder is due within 10 days or prior to pick up via Cashier's check or money order unless other arrangements can be made. If you are unable to pay, please do not bid, I do not have the time to deal with dishonest people. Thank you for looking and please bid if you truly want an awesome Mopar A Body!!!On Oct-25-10 at 12:38:45 PDT, seller added the following information: *******************************Added 10/25/2010********************** I've already gotten a lot of questions about the car so I will try to address them here. The original door lock from the original passenger side door will go with the car ( I will even try to get it installed prior to pick up as long as I have time ) so that both side has the same key to open the doors. I am also adding a pic of the custome stitching my mom did on the seats ( DODGE DART ). I am also adding a picture of some of the rust on the driver side area right behind the door. If you have any questions, please ask! If I can think of anything else I will add it. Thanks guys!On Oct-28-10 at 09:29:19 PDT, seller added the following information: *********************************Added 10/28/2010**************************************** I'm posting some pics of the underside of the floor pan. I've never had any problems with it. I am also posting a pic of the trunk and some of the misc. items that will come with the car in the trunk. Some water had seeped through and was sitting in the trunk (under the trunk mat so I didn't notice it earlier. It has started to cause some of the paint to flake and some surface rust but nothing that was too bad that I could see. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Rich
