Vehicle Detail
Due to NON paying bidder I have to relist, SO PLEASE Don't bid unless you intend to pay!!! Today I have For Sale a True Barn Find! This is an original 1969 Pontiac Catalina 2 dr ht, nothing has been changed or altered. Car has been sitting for the past 8 years so this IS NOT a car that you can jump in and drive down to the local Drive-in. The car seems to be ALL there including the A/C components, car starts right up and will YARD drive but brakes feel very weak and will need attention as will many things that tend to seize up or become dry rotted after 8 years of sitting. Car has been under cover so the rust you see on the car all for a couple of spots I will point out in the pics I have taken is surface rust. Car has original 400 motor with 3 speed automatic trans, as I stated before the car starts right up and yard drives you can feel trans catch 2nd good, and reverse is good so I would say a New Fliter and fluid change and you will have a strong trans. Motor dosen't smoke at start up or sunning so it also seems to be strong needing only minor tune-up and maybe YOUR own tweaking. The car's body is very straight for the year and will only need moderate body work to be straight as an arrow. the majority of the rust in on the hood, this can be fixed I am sure but the easiest way out would be to obtain another hood. The doors the bottom of the fenders and the quarter panels look very very good, this has been a Florida car all it's life and shows it. The floorboards are solid with NO holes, the Rear Bumper could be waxed and used the way it is as it looks very very good, no pitting or dings. The Drivers side of the Front Bumper is also in very good condition and will only need to be cleaned, the Passenger's Side Bumper is Tweaked,as I have shown in the pic. it is Not pitted and still will shine as good as New but is twisted a little and to have a 100% car this will need to be straightened and then probably re-chromed.Interior will also need to be restored as it needs seats(original ones) to be recovered and the headliner is hanging down but ALL the bows are there for re-install.Door panles look good but will probably need to be re-done also, so count on this. The only BONDO I found in the car looks like a very old repair and I have included pics or have them to show the extent of work done, not very much. This will make a very nice car if re-done back to original condition. The wheel wells are great shape as is the wheel-well chrome, this would ALSO make a VERY COOL RAT-ROD. With the addition of fender-skirts and wide whites this would also turn heads as a Low-Rider/Rat Rod! I have taken many Pics of the car and have tried to describe it to the best of my knowledge, if any other pics needed Please send e-mail and I will be Glad to get them for you, if I don't already have them. Please feel free if in the area to stop by and look at the car in person or have an independent party check it out for you, there is nothing to hide here! I am starting the car at a Reasonable price for a car of this calibar as the old car books say in # 4 Condition it should be worth $1775.00 and I think it is a Strong # 4. As ALways Thanks for looking and Good Luck Bidding!
